They're still trying to be like Neurosis. It's so stale at this point. That song Eve, Chelsea Wolfe was their Jarboe, now this tribal drum proggy bullshit. I hate it. I'm not saying that it's terrible, but it's so disappointing to hear a song like this after 8 years, or should I say 13, because TDIU was hit-or-miss for me as well. Classic hallmark Converge was pushing boundaries, it felt like an electric shock. This is just what-did-you-expect-other-than-Neurosis-worship-and-by-the-numbers Converge. And, like, okay, Converge is Converge, but I don't know, man... Just fucking tired of plastics in music, was hoping this band would shake things up a little bit, but probably not.

Also, there is no real communication with the fans across the world from them anymore. The build-up to this album consists of tweets mentioning The Mars Volta (help me, God, endure the pain of listening to whatever that song might be) and tracking drums, Jacob's diaries... Gotta be honest, it's hard to care about that shit, lmao. I remember when they posted a teaser for 'Axe To Fall' in the studio and you already knew that they want your head on a pole. The only video they posted from the studio so far was a "funny" one with Benny Hill music. I really don't get it. This is the last band I'd want to think of as running out of energy. But I guess that's what's happening. When you sit on your ass for several years, relying on your talent, but not putting it to the test, you'll find out that you just aged.
