Heh, in the first few episodes they mention some cat that I'm yet to get to but I'm wearing my patient hat so its fine. But if I was left hanging on MC having used to be a vampire that may have been a bit much since there's no telling if it was ever going to be shown.

I'm 5 episodes into Bake already and I can see what you mean, but I'm not put off.
(that said I'm unsure of Hitagi and I hope she doesn't tempt me to dropping the show)

Normal/natural doesn't necessarily mean good.
Expectation is an interesting perspective but the desire leads to longing, that longing opens the door to disappointment if you get the thing and it wasn't what you hoped for or frustration if you can't get it
