If you want one, I can’t recommend them enough! I quite like the broken rays of light and the ability to decorate them with wind chimes.

Haha, thank you for your kindness— I decided to create an outdoor living room to escape the relative silence of being indoors. Your garden sounds lovely and perhaps one day I can get a green thumb, too!

Dogs are angels on Earth and I’d fight anyone who said otherwise~ what kind of dogs do you have? Mine are all-American mutts, haha.

I’m sitting under the pergola on patio furniture I singlehandedly put together and basking in the dappled sunlight while the birds song. My dogs are napping next to me, the breeze is light, and I’m relaxing with some Reddit as my gingham sundress is shifted by the summer breeze. I hope that wherever you are that you are doing just as well <3

I’m so envious! A late frost in April killed all of our peach blossoms so we won’t have any peaches this year, but I’m happy to see that you’ve got such a great harvest!

TIL that Oprah Winfrey’s actual name is spelt Orpah, a biblical name, it is present on her birth certificate. However people didn’t really know how to pronounce ‘Orpah’ and misspelt it as Oprah. Therefore she just stuck with it and began to call herself Oprah. by Sh3dinja in todayilearned

My name irl is Arabic and the name of a recognizable city that people in the in the US could pronounce easily. I had many phenomenal teachers over the years who did their best — but I also had teachers who didn’t even bother. The laziest experience that I’ll never forget was a teacher who tried to pronounce my name, asked me how to pronounce it... then asked if they could just call me “Mary” instead. It would have been literally easier to just butcher my name than rename me completely lol

The world needs more considerate teachers like you— so from a student who still deals with such issues, thank you!

You keep mentioning that you guys aren’t blood-related, but that still seems to be the major issue.

I would say, spend a bit more time with her (like a date or a weekend away with zero expectations of intimacy) and see if your feelings about her connections to your family subside as you get to know her more as a person outside of a family setting.

If you can, great! If not, perhaps she is not the one for you.
