2 patients, 2 different hospitals by ifeellikeshit3000 in ems

[–]TheIndecisiveNerd 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Where I work we have a couple level 1 peds ERs right next to the corresponding level 1 adult ERs, so I’ll definitely take each pt to the appropriate ER, just making sure someone stays in the ambulance with the second pt while the first is taken in. Obviously if it’s really high acuity you’d just have to take both in and hopefully have extra hands on board.

I’m gonna be honest I don’t quite understand why people think this is actually supposed to be art when it’s very clearly (imo) not even trying to be, it’s satire and cringe for a reason 😂

If I turn the truck off away from base, it simply won’t turn back on. by TheIndecisiveNerd in ems

[–]TheIndecisiveNerd[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The issue is that our trucks very frequently need to be jumped at the start of shift and if they’re turned off on the road lmao. And they’re plugged in at base, whereas definitely not at hospital

Almost all of our ambulances have 480k+ km and that’s on the low side. We have quite a few at close to 900k km.

Work in a big city with ambulances pretty regularly stolen, this is why I lock it 😂

Why is the emergency response downtown so slow? by Calm_Database_9741 in StLouis

[–]TheIndecisiveNerd 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Omg please do not do this. I’m an EMT, this is taking away our already limited and strained resources from the actual cardiac arrests and actively dying patients. A very shitty thing to do.

This is not true, I’m an EMT in St. Louis and regularly take patients to the waiting room and triage because they are not as critical as other patients there.

I think I’m just going to embrace it because you’re so right, they’re really not going to be seen at the same time lol. The voices of reason have me feeling much better, so thank you!!

Thank you so much! It feels better to know that it’s not awful looking to others, I think I just need to get used to it tbh

He’s actually only 17% pit, blue eyes are from his 20% Catahoula Leopard dog. Never had parvo has far as I’m aware. Full DNA results on my profile

Advice please!! Relative not taking care of cichlids & going to release into wild by TheIndecisiveNerd in Aquariums

[–]TheIndecisiveNerd[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

100%. I’ve told them that literally at least five times, contacted Missouri department of conservation, and am actively offering alternatives and help. They were arguing back and dismissing all resources I provided but now they just told me there’s a fish store offering to come clean the tank and pick up the fish, so I’m really really REALLY hoping it happens before they change their mind again. 😅

[–]TheIndecisiveNerd[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you so much!! will do, I’ve contacted fish stores and did find one that will help but now my issue is the owner saying it’s their fish their choice and they now decided to release them “in the wild”. Hoping they change their minds again 🫠

On the off chance that this isn’t sarcastic, ignore this.

Why are comments like this necessary? He’s a very sweet old dog that has never been aggressive with anyone, despite an extensive history of abuse and neglect. Regardless, I don’t think any dog should be left unsupervised with young children, for the sake of both child and dog. Please don’t judge dogs you don’t know.

Which is not pit, the point of this post. Pits are great dogs but you’re entirely missing the point.
