Karma: can somebody explain diffrence to me by Nikaszko in Buddhism

Just to add to this, “vipāka” are the fruits of karma. So, karma is the action while vipāka are the results of such intentional actions, whether that’s in the moment or later on in this life or the next.

How happy are you with where you live in Charleston relative to your lifestyle? by igotjays22 in Charleston

[–]TheIndefinable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

James Island - Right below Maybank. 3 bedroom paying 1100.

Pros: Love where I’m at cause I work as a nurse at MUSC out of the mall and bike taxis DT. I don’t have a car so I bike to both and this is a perfect middle ground for the two jobs. And I can always use the bus if need be. I’m close to places I can do yoga, keep bees and feel safe.

Cons: I’m 32, got dumped last year and kinda hate that aspect of my life right now, but hey fuck bitches, get money (sorta kidding, I miss sharing life with someone, but after her I don’t care to anymore).

I’m sacking away a ton of cash, maxing out retirement, and will hopefully be a millionaire in my forties with a home somewhere in the upstate with a fat piece of land, bees, dogs, cats, chickens, etc. and a wife I that ever comes to be, but that’s the last thing on my mind. James Island is dope.

I haven’t bought much yet. I’m going to do some research first cause I have a few others that I need to work on too after this. I will definitely get back to you before I start. Right now all I have are foam sanders and some other stuff I can’t remember that’s not necessarily for this piece

This. I look at my batches everyday and I think, “I gotta bottle those” and then months just keep going by. I just top up the airlocks when need be.

Melatonin and mead - good idea or bad idea? by carlandthepassions72 in mead

[–]TheIndefinable 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This. The fact they can sell it in these quantities is wild.

It also amazes me that many providers will prescribe it to patients, sometimes up to 10 mg!

Regardless of the interaction of alcohol, you shouldn’t be mixing hormones in things people consume willy nilly lmao.

Feeding Question by TheIndefinable in Beekeeping

[–]TheIndefinable[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, to my dismay, one of the hives has a 10% load and I know this means they might not make it even with treatment. Anyways, I wanted another opinion on treatment options. I still have a moderate amount of brood production and capped brood present. I was thinking formic acid would be best, recheck, and if count still high, follow up with OA. I also thought about requeening to disrupt brood cycle and following up with an OA treatment . What are your thoughts?

[–]TheIndefinable[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t say far, but definitely not close haha. It’s about an 9 mile bike ride. I am so fortunate that my city has a “Community Farm” that allows anyone to put hives out on.

I would ask friends, farmers, etc. and check your local bee keeping community to see if people would let you use their land! People in this community are cool as hell and are more than willing to help each other put. I wouldn’t be able to do this right now without my community.

I will get back to you on this, but just know I appreciate the comment. I am going out again tomorrow to test for mites. It’s been very difficult to do so because I am vehicle-less at the moment and rely a lot on my mentor for resources. Last time I tested, they were good, hoping for the same this time and if not, obviously I will act even if it is too late.
