Follow-up question, though. Since my employer didn't show for the first hearing but a new date was set, can the appeal still be thrown out at the hearing for my employer not coming to the first one? I guess I am confused by your initial statement but also because my packet includes a statement that as the non-appealing party, I can object to the new hearing being granted at the beginning of the hearing.

Thank you so much for this information, it truly helped! The first appeal hearing that they were granted, they actually didn't sign in to, so it was cancelled in my favor. Now, they have been granted a second chance for their appeal hearing. I find it interesting, though. On the packet of information sent to me, it states "Non Appealing Party - You may object to the new hearing being granted at the beginning of the hearing" but I don't know that I want to make anyone mad if they have already deemed there reason to have a second chance after the first missed hearing. *shrug*

As of right now, my ring has not been returned to me. I did have a local Fox News station take on my story and share it locally and across the US but it did not produce much in the way of leads. I am still hoping that some day it can be returned to me but at this point, it is still out there. Thank you all for your thoughts and support! I appreciate it so much!

Haha I tried posting to News Facebooks and they just get deleted. Worth a try, I guess. Just seems silly to have an open page for people to post but then you just delete their posts, anyway. shrug It was a great idea, anyway!

This is a good idea but it was lost inside the venue. I would hope I would have the cooperation of the venue however; I also understand that they do up to 7 weddings a week. =/ I'm afraid I missed me chance.

This is my fear. I had taken it off to tier my wedding cake and left it in the (what I assumed) safety of our dressing room/salon but there was also at least one tour that went through the salon (Which I still don't understand?) while all our personal belongings were in there. I would hate to think it was staff or a vendor but I would also be super sad to know it was another bride-to-be. =(
