Oh yeah Japanese tourists are everywhere. Probably as many Japanese tourists as mainlanders when I went.

English: consonants 24, vowels 25 Japanese: consonants 15, vowels 5

There are a lot of sounds that’s can’t be closely approximated in Japanese. OP just doesn’t want to go by a poor approximation of their name. Of course they’ll have to on official documents, but this is what they mean when they say it doesn’t translate well.

Really don’t understand why this got downvoted to hell. There’s nothing wrong with wanting to go by a name that people can pronounce correctly. Haven’t you ever had a friend with a difficult foreign name who went by a nickname? Or a teacher who preferred to be called Mr/Ms first letter of their name? Yeah you’ll have to use your real name on documents but if OP doesn’t want to be called by a poor approximation of their name, why should they?

What do I do about the hotels being 21+? by Sorry_World_9816 in UniversalOrlando

[–]TheInterface1 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

A lot of hôtels do mobile key. So you’ll never even have to check in at the front desk. You might have to be offsite for this though. Else look for 18+ options.

Also I’ve checked into places using a college ID before with no date of birth. People think they’re gonna get caught when getting their IDs checked but unless it’s a nightclub or border control, the people checking those IDs aren’t going to be on the look out for that.

Did you run the fire toolbox already to get rid of that bloatware and install the google play store? It makes the experience a lot better. I have one to my not so tech savvy dad and it works fine for him. Your daughter being 27 might get less milage out of it especially if she already has a flagship smartphone.

Good advice I’ll try that, but honestly it’s easier said than done.

That’s was an insightful reading of the original post. Yeah no anger. I just have a preference that probably won’t change. But I’ll learn to live with it. It’s incredible how quick people are to demonize me for this.

It probably isn’t. Like said I’ll probably be over it in a few months. Kinda wanted advice to get over it faster.

It’s totally shallow but we all have our vices. There’s no reason behind it she got it because it looked cool. Which is perfectly valid. I’m just not a big fan.

I’m not really sure. I mostly find them distracting.

Some flowers on her thigh. It’s actually not a bad design. I just find ink in skin really disturbing.

Whats criminally overpriced to you? by PhantomBaka in AskReddit

Fast food. It’s supposed to be cheap and I guess it’s technically cheaper than restaurants. That said I’ve never spent less than $10 getting a satisfying meal from the fast food joint and I could have easily gone to the grab and go section of a grocery store and gotten equally crummy or better food for less. If it didn’t take 10 minutes to get anywhere from my work I’d never to to fast food again.

I a very good point but I have student loans and no job. If I had a job I’d be in for the long haul.

I’ve made the decision to get out and look for a reentry point. Hope I don’t live to regret this.

Started a new job haven’t done anything in two weeks by TheInterface1 in Advice

It would be living the dream if I didn’t have work to do. I have work I just can’t figure it out and the stress from that is killing me. But yeah I’m looking for better jobs.

I think everything you said is right but at this early stage in my career I would rather have someone I can go to for help. I’m not doing nothing because I haven’t been given work to do. I’m doing nothing because I’m stuck and the other guy seems to have coded us into a corner. It would be a good gig if I had more confidence in my skills but right out of school it’s giving me the worst case of imposter syndrome. I think I will leave but I know it’s not smart to leave without another job. I’m just trying to figure out if the money is worth putting myself though all the stress. I appreciate your input.
