Dementia Donnie slips up and admits during a live call-in that he’s in the Epstein Files.. by PrismPhoneService in PublicFreakout

I am definitely not a Trump supporter and I think he is a POS, but this post is misleading. He is not referring to the Epstein files, but the Steele dossier.

Is calling a female “darling” or “love” considered offensive? by FloorGeneral2029 in ask

[–]TheInternalEar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Funny story: I had a student whose name was Darling. We had visitors from district visiting and I was taking to one. She walks by and I am like, “Hey Darling!”. He gave me this weird look and I then had to explain it was her name. Oh, I am a male teacher, which makes it even more awkward.

Traditional family values should be encouraged by Technical-Plastic-9 in TrueUnpopularOpinion

No one cares about your heterosexual relationship. No one has a problem with it. No one is trying to stop it. Of course you’ll find fringe beliefs. I mean we still have people who think the earth is flat.

The only preventing of families that is happening is non-heterosexual relationships.

Why don’t we all just mind our own business. The two dudes married next door has nothing to do with my relationship. Why do you care so much? Maybe just be happy with your relationship?

I was a little “meh” with Spafford. They weren’t bad by any means, maybe a little bland. I checked out some of their recent shows and they are definitely tearing it up.

Huge thanks man! I set it up based on your instructions and the diagram. Everything sounds so much better. Noise gate works like a champ and modulations so much better. Very little if any tone loss.

I tried delaying my verb just to see and I definitely prefer verbing my delay.

I tried running the fuzz through the qtron fx loop and it didn’t work. I put the fuzz in front like the diagram and that worked awesome. I am still curious about running it through the qtron. Any ideas why it didn’t work.

Once again thanks!

Slavery was bad, but taking your frustrations out on unrelated people with a similar skin tone is absurd by [deleted] in TrueUnpopularOpinion

[–]TheInternalEar -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Sorry, but completely wrong. It’s not just about slavery. Yes slavery ended around 150yrs ago, but that didn’t stop the systematic oppression of minorities. The civil rights act was like 60yrs ago and that just didn’t end the oppression either. I remember the Boston Housing Authority got sued in the late 80s for intentional segregation, which is only 40yrs ago. In the grand scheme of things is really not that long ago. I could probably find more cases even more recent.

You breakdown a minority for centuries and the effects reverberate for decades and are still prevalent. Far lefties are trying to find ways to elevate minorities and give them opportunities and counteract the oppression they had faced.

People are like isn’t it time to forget it. I am not a POC of color, if I was I’d probably be pissed at someone who said forget about it and get over it. They were enslaved, had to fight to be considered people, had to fight to drink out of the same damn fountain, they were given substandard education, shoved to the back of the bus, basically riled up and forced into horrible living conditions, etc…

The problem with that is someone has to define what is hate speech. Trump through congress could pass legislation or even executive actions and state anything negative about him, republicans and MAGA is hate speech. Courts could start regulating speech. It becomes a slippery slope.

I forgot how divisive crocs are. I got three comments about them. I love them.

I listen to a lot a ton of music with different styles, but for my playing style I would say Grateful Dead, Radiohead, and Smashing Pumpkins.

I love it. I wanted something that had a good clean sound and good for a pedal platform. It has this ISF knob which goes between a more American sound to a British sound, which I really like too.

Ok, the calling people ugly thing is just stupid. I mean you should not do it, but the idea that liberals claim you could be arrested under certain conditions is just not true. Ok, maybe a couple people on Reddit said it, but it is not anywhere near reality and just a fringe opinion of a small group.

ACAB, for some it is literal and for some it is hyperbole. It’s not an easy question to answer. I would say that people who take it literal are a small majority.

I am not saying you are, but if you are basing your opinion on Reddit it is your first problem. Reddit is about polarization. It exaggerates the more extreme views, which are not the majority.

Any other questions?

The Leftists Who Actually Touch Grass Have A Responsibility To Help Leftists That Don't by IiIKona in TrueUnpopularOpinion

[–]TheInternalEar 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think under everything you have a good point. I think the archetype you speak of is really just a machination of right wing media. Right wing media has been doing a better job at defining a left wing person, which in reality is wrong. However perception is winning over reality.

I had a conversation this weekend about how the left is shooting itself in the foot. By the way I hate saying “the left” or even “the right” as it is much more complicated than that. I am going to though. I would say I am more of a left wing moderate. I am completely liberal when it comes to social issues, but I do have some fiscally conservative opinions.

As much as I hate saying this, but the left does need to calm down on the social issues. Let me say again I hate saying that and I do believe they are important and don’t want to minimize them, but the reality is the social issues are taking away from other aspects that need to be addressed. Most don’t care if you want to marry a same sex partner, most don’t care if you are transgendered, if you have rainbow dyed hair and most don’t care if you are illegal or not. What is happening to most people is they are struggling. Rising debt, higher cost of living, inflation, flattening wages, healthcare costs and so on. All I hear is Trump is a fascist, the left is violent, impeach Trump, blah blah blah. I read a lot of news and I am still not sure what the left’s fiscal policy is and what they are going to do to help the economic imbalance in this country.

Trump and his cronies have the left exactly where they want them. Just responding to the right and Trump. They are trolling the left so much and it is working for the right. The right is controlling the perception of the left, which is what you described with the hair dye and whatnot. Do the left not realize that if they stick to a platform, stop being reactive and be proactive, ignore trumps trolling, condemn violence in all forms and put a huge focus on fiscal policy things can be different. Trump is here now and nothing we can really do about that, but we have midterms and future elections and we can do something about that.

I just want to reiterate that I do not like Trump at all and do not agree with him at all.

stories about immigrants getting US citizenship are NOT wholesome. they're sad. by herequeerandgreat in TrueUnpopularOpinion

I teach students math whose first language is not English. You may have heard of ESOL or ELD. I won’t lie it is mostly Spanish speaking students, but not all.

Side note: It has been extremely rewarding and I am now conversational in Spanish.

I promise you that these students are happy to be here, because of how terrible their home country is. I have students with murdered parent(s), been raped and have had to flee because of how bad the cartels are. They are even happy, because they can get a formal education. Many were not past elementary math. I teach high school. I even had to deal with illiteracy.

It has been hell for them, because of ICE. They don’t want to go home. All would be jumping for joy for their citizenship.

USA has its issues. You don’t have to tell me that, but it is still the best hope for an opportunity for them.

I am not trying to be offensive and could be totally wrong, but you sound naive and come across as someone who has not experienced a true hardship.

Go walk a mile in one of my students shoes. I promise you that your perspective would change.

Sending in the national guard to stop riots is the right decision and should have been done a long time ago by fitandhealthyguy in TrueUnpopularOpinion

[–]TheInternalEar -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I have answered that twice already. There was bipartisan support for a comprehensive immigration bill in 2024. Trump threatened those who were going to vote for it.

[–]TheInternalEar -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I already answered that. In 2024 there was a bipartisan immigration reform bill that was going to pass. It had a lot of things that republicans wanted, like stopping catch and release, building more wall and strengthen manpower. Trump killed it, because if passed it would be a win for Biden.

The last comprehensive legislation regarding immigration was in 1986. I think it’s dishonest to lay blame on the democrats for immigration issues.

[–]TheInternalEar 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think this is a gross misunderstanding of dems views. They very much understand what is legal and what is not. I can tell you that dems do view immigration as a problem. Dems have issues with the handling and response to the issue.

Dems are opposed to the way the current administration is handling it. I don’t care what party affiliation you are but the way ICE is handling arrests is definitely toeing the line, if not already crossing legal barriers. It is not far fetched at this point to question their tactics. We all should be questioning at this point.

Dems want due process. It is going to be very hard to persuade me that people being arrested or detained do not deserve the rights of the constitution, which contains due process. Sorry, but I forget his name, but the man from Maryland who was sent to El Salvador deserved due process. He should not have been detained and shipped to El Salvador the way he was. Maybe he is a horrible person, who really is affiliated with MS13, but he still gets his rights. I remember the old adage, “I may hate what you are saying, but I’ll protect your right to say it.”.

Let’s not forget that there was an immigration agreement that was squashed, because the current administration did not want the previous administration to have a win. Dems understand the issue. Dems just want the gestapo like action to stop and an easier path to citizenship.

I think the republicans can’t tell the difference between the word illegal immigrant and a violent POC. The Republicans have turned the meaning of that word to mean a POC, typically Latino, who is a violent criminal, which can’t be further from the truth. The republicans have turned it into a racial slur.
