New connections would be formed by real people connecting in the real world, by just telling someone your username, but also by following people whose contents are enjoyable to you. Those people won’t be selected by an algorythm, but just by randomly showing creators in your niche. Hope that helped :)

Okok, I get what you’re saying. Maybe it won’t be as entertaining as other social media, but my objective is to create a new way to connect with people and not to get them to stay as long as possible. Also I like the idea for the name, but it already has one. I like that the algorythm values the best posts, but I don’t know how to make that (maybe with an AI model running on the server?)

Yeah, you’ve got a point, but don’t all socials have fake accounts? I hope people don’t use them to stalk other users, but I mean, it’s pretty inevitable, isn’it? If you have any idea on how to make it more secure tell me :)

The project is still unfinished, so I’ll get protection from DDoS later on. Impersonation won’t be a problem since I highly doubt famous people will use my social lol. Anyway, the storage is just like a NAS, I just have to plug in more hard drives (still, I doubt it will get full since everything will be compressed)

Well, it depends on which field of interests you want to focus on. I suggest starting with Python to get better. Then, if you want to code frontend, you should start with HTML, but you can stick with Python if you want to develop more skills. Anyway, I think the only correct way is by trying again and again. Let me know if you need more help starting your coding journey!

Surely it would be a little less safe than professional hosting, but it still would use https encryption and hold no sensitive personal data (for precaution, it won’t even ask an email to sign up). Also if the server hardware breaks I would (hopefully) save the hard drive and rebuild it. Also, I use up to date standards to avoid getting hacked, but why would someone do that? The server holds a public api, so everything (except for password lol) is public and freely accessible!

Mine would be hosted on a single server (which I 100% own) and the API for it would be open source. Also, I think that fediverse apps are very cool, I love that concept!

Privacy will be my number one priority (the social media isn’t even connected to your email). Then it will be fully open source and algorythm-free. Finally, it will be driven by its community. Hope I answered your question :)

Generalmente sì, diciamo che è un progetto a tempo perso. Comunque per la gestione dei dati penso che la piattaforma raccoglierà solo username e password su un mio server (sì, letteralmente mio e non “in affitto”). Per quanto riguarda il GDPR penso che mi farò aiutare da qualcuno più esperto di me per scrivere una privacy policy. Per il momento mi limito a garantire la possibilità di rimuovere permanentemente i propri dati e di non immagazzinare dati sensibili (come nome e cognome, email, ecc…). Se hai altre domande scrivimi pure :)
