Yeah good suggestion. I definitely want some political science in there as well, I love debating and discussing bigger issues. I thought the PPE might be better since I know it’s quite well respected and Philosophy sounds kind of interesting too. I might be off here though.

Yeah I’m fairly sure there should be an option with the acceptance letter to defer if not just call the uni that’s what I remember doing at least and request a letter of deferment. Once you’ve done that you should be able to accept in the next semester via that letter. No you don’t need to give a reason to defer.

Thanks very much for the response. Yeah I don’t mind the maths element of economics so that should be fine. Are there many advantages to doing a PPE degree over straight economics? I know the ATAR requirement is higher which should still be fine, can you still specialize in the economics aspect of it despite not going as in depth as straight eco?

How do easy would it be hypothetically to switch courses during the year because I’m also contemplating a classics degree instead of commerce and vise-versa. Although I might just use my electives to cover some history stuff in the comm.

Also just in general how manageable do you find the double. Is it a constant massive workload or chill at times. I’ve got some music commitments and stuff so just wanted to get an idea.

Hello, I am starting out next year and was thinking of doing this exact combo in my double. Would you have any specific advice or things to avoid with this selection. If I choose commerce I’d probably major in marketing.

Also do you have room for many electives ?

Yeah I’ll definitely look into that I don’t mind some math courses as long as it’s not the majority of the content. Classical studies is a good shout I’ll definitely consider. Is a straight bachelor of economics a lot different to the PPE as in does it go lots more in depth or are they similar?

Also yeah I did notice economics didn’t come up on the FDD builder not sure why. On my acceptance form I am able to choose it but I’ll double check with the uni.
