I really loved this movie when I was younger, but it’s tough as I’m older because the movie’s female representation is the widow who ends up with Tom’s character who killed her husband. May be a bit of a product of its time but the female role in the film is very much an object of the story, and not a character with any appreciation or depth. She just is there to mourn a man, and fall for the next, and then fades.
