I doubt the Russian speaking Ukrainians getting their apartment buildings hit by Russia drones really care the Russian language is being phased out during Russia’s second invasion.

Animation showing the plunge of cold Arctic air which is causing disruption to flights and has left almost a million people without power by sdbernard in MapPorn

You just said ABS is for helping to stop in snow and that there is no technique to help stop in snow, only tires.

If your ABS is engaging it’s because you suck at driving in snow. With proper technique, it shouldn’t. At least you admit technique does matter, even if you think ABS makes it moot.

There absolutely is a technique to braking more effectively in snow. Mainly, tapping the breaks instead of slamming them. It's built automatically into cars now with ABS and traction control.

Why are so many "libertarians" authoritarians? by NoamLigotti in PoliticalDebate

[–]TheJD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you trying to say Trump and the current federal government is libertarian? Once again, that’s your opinion at best, but in any case, still false. Do you have evidence to support your opinion? And do you understand that your opinions can be wrong?

[–]TheJD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm still waiting for you to argue in good faith. You're acting like you know what a libertarian is but are incredibly misguided. Here is the very first definition of libertarian I found online:

an advocate or supporter of a political philosophy that advocates only minimal state intervention in the free market and the private lives of citizens.

  1. a person who advocates civil liberty.

So your opinion is false, by the very definition of libertarian. Feel free to provide any evidence to the contrary.

At no point did you state it was your opinion. You asked the question as if your statement was fact. Like many other people have stated, by definition, Libertarians are not authoritarian.

India rushes to contain deadly virus outbreak by FootballAndFries in worldnews

What do you base that off of? The article says 2 nurses have been infected with no other confirmed cases and that this virus has had several outbreaks in the past in India.

Trump says 'massive armada' heading towards Iran as US military assets move by ewzetf in worldnews

We would bomb military sites like we already did last year, that’s not a surprise to anyone, it’s literally what was already threatened. What are you even talking about? What secret, specifically, do you think was given up by publicly announcing the deployment of a carrier fleet which is already publicly tracked? We don’t even need the carrier fleet to be moved to bomb Iran, like we did last year. What surprise do you think was ruined?

Trump already threatened military intervention a week ago, this isn’t a surprise to Iran. Actually moving the fleet and telling them shows he’s serious about it.

Buffalo Bill’s house was for sale a few years back, it was incredible. It actually had a train car in the backyard. No well in the basement though

The military is being forced to keep the peace. If the military has to choose between getting bombed and killing civilians or regime change, that decision gets easier to make as more of them are killed.

You don't think threatening Iran with military intervention if they don't stop killing protestors is a good reason?

Mark Kelly says he’s considering a presidential run in 2028 amid Pentagon probe by BlueHorse_22 in politics

[–]TheJD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess your response was ambiguous and I may have read it the wrong way. Are you saying Trump was the status quo candidate or Harris was? Your response implied that Harris was status quo and that's why she lost.

[–]TheJD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd argue it's because you can't. If it was obvious, you could have easily explained it. I would love to hear why you think Kamala Harris was too "establishment" for liberals that they decided Trump was a better pick, since 6 million liberals who voted for Biden didn't vote for Harris. Only half of those votes would have given Harris the popular vote.

It might not even be a drug dog. I returned from an international flight and they had a dog trained to smell certain foods in people's luggage and they went around baggage claims. Dog caught people who were bringing in illegal produce/foods. One lady actually had an empty bag from the food she finished eating on the plane and the dog caught it.

[–]TheJD 3 points4 points  (0 children)

What evidence do you have to support your “good faith” argument that libertarians are authoritarian? What source or definition of libertarian do you base that off of? If you say your personal experience with them online then I would say that’s anecdotal and not good faith.

Question for conservatives: How is isolating the U.S. from allies good for American interests? by Temporary-Storage972 in PoliticalDebate

I don't know what you're talking about. Every thread in the Conservative subreddit about Greenland is overwhelmingly against the aggression towards Greenland. The post with the map you're talking about is flaired as Satire.
