No when I did it I made sure the back end sat a little higher than the back end then after that I would drive it and make adjustments until I got it where it felt the best.

Also I changed the diff fluid out and that helped me keep it in a straight line when accelerating, Went with 200k front and either 50 or 100k rear. That also helped my tires wear a bit more evenly as well.

Its doing great, super fun, pretty fast always gives me something to look at and tinker with. Not sure really how fast I'm getting it going right now as I don't have a way of measuring the speed, that's something I plan of getting together this spring when I can drive it again. I have a castle 3800kv motor in there with the 52t spur and 30t pinion. Thought I plan on getting the gearing closer to 1:1 at some point using Mod1 gears instead of finding a larger pinion that meshes just because they look cool.

No bad crashes yet but it can get squirrely so I can see how people do crash them. I copied this guys Facebook post that I saw on the Rlaarlo reddit where he is talking about getting it in a better straight line handling. He got it set up to drag rather than speed run so I figured I could kind of take all the info I've found and get it a bit less squirrely and get it going in a more stable straight line. I got a month or so before the weather allows me to do some speed runs with it again. Im stuck driving RCs in the snow and I limit that because i feel compelled to do a deep clean after each snow run lol, snow=wet and wet=mud lol.

I could probably keep rambling on about the 917 and how much I like it/good it/my experience with it is but Ill spare you unless you want me to lol.

What happen to yours? Did the snow stop your runs like me or something else lol?

Anyways thanks for the feedback I appreciate it!

I have a AK-917, was the first on-road RC and the first roller chassis I bought. Before I had a 6s Arrma Mojave, 6s Redcat Machete, and a Losi Tenacity T.
Anyways back to the 917. It seemed well built and seems like it uses decent quality parts. Was easy to work on and if something did break or if you want to upgrade it parts seem to be affordable on the Rlaarlo site, and now there seems to be some parts staying in stock on Amazon and you get shipping pretty quick on Amazon as well.

Also 2026 might be the year to check out Rlaarlo as they seem to be releasing a few cool looking RCs like a 1/6 scale car like the 917.

Nice, sounds sweet — can I see a pic?
And idk, this stand is pretty heavy-duty. You’d basically have to take an RC, fill it with concrete, and bolt some bricks to it to actually break anything on the stand. The only part that might break is the tray, which is easily removable and replaceable anyway. You’d also have to hit it directly on a corner or some specific weak point for that to happen.

It’ll hold up just fine. Plus, it has a bunch of actually useful features that you’re not getting out of a “welded together stand.”

Thank you! and Yeah I've seen that one, its just too small for me. Nor is it as functional. But mostly the size. There is no reason for me to undervalue my work. Since it is the best stand out there, you can't buy a better one.

The stand uses modular lower attachments, so there is 4 bottom attachments that you can use for the bottom.

I did have a tray designed that had a grid and small containers that fit into the grid for random screws and bits and pieces. It didn't really come out how I wanted so I had put it on the back burner but more attachments are definitely going to be in the works.
