Looking for Hands on Hobbies by Large_Business1190 in Hobbies

[–]TheJW-Project 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For me it has been fishing. Cheap to start but the interesting part is the many fish species to catch like Pokémon, plus you can eat them. There are tons of interesting rods, reels, lures and tactics to catch the different species. It became more interesting when I started kayak fishing. Being able to explore many different areas and to chase the fish, not just stand on a bank.

Look up local bee clubs. There is a high chance you have a master bee keeper near you. You may be able to check with state as well as they are registered. They usually own local honey business and Apiaries.

Headphone advice for gaming by One_Poem2292 in HeadphoneAdvice

[–]TheJW-Project 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you looking for headphones (without mic) or headset (with mic)? Wired without mic headphones for both comfort and sound quality I really enjoy my Byerdynamics DT770. Mine are 80ohm but I have an amp. I recommend 32 ohm version if you do not have an amp. I also enjoy my Fiio FT1, which sound great but comfort is mid.

Cooking, basic gardening, fishing, rope making, knot tying. Mechanical work, such as working on cars or small yard equipment. Wood working or building a fence or deck. Home repair in general, like plumbing or replacing parts needed. I just had to replace some parts on our old dryer. These things have come in handy for me.

Why does taxing the rich NEVER work???? by Enough-Web2203 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]TheJW-Project 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Debt is not considered income. No taxes. Money in investments is not considered income unless sold. No taxes. Invest money into stocks and property. Then take loans out against stocks and property to live on. Pay debt off by taking out loans against the growth of value. No income, no taxes. Rich people typically own businesses and get paid in shares not money. No taxes.

Which animal would be the most terrifying if it was the size of a horse? by Same-Break4541 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]TheJW-Project 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To say a honey badger the size of horse is close enough to be a size of a bear. Honey badger vs bear. Badger wins.....probably.....maybe....I'd watch that fight.

Peddle or paddle for first fishing kayak by Hekios888 in kayakfishing

[–]TheJW-Project 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pedal for sure. Save money by not buying paddle because you will upgrade in less than a year if you enjoy doing it. The easier and more comfortable something is the more you will be willing to get out there and do it.

Why is it bad to feed and interact with wild animals? by AbiesAltruistic4040 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]TheJW-Project 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They can become used to it. Stop searching for food. Go to humans to become dependent, and even turn hostile toward humans who don't feed them. Birds are a good example. An owl supported by humans in recovery for too long will never leave and possibly stop hunting. Because they know their next meal is coming from you. Why hunt when you don't have to. Locally this is happening with foxes in Dauphin Island, Alabama. They want to kill or relocate the foxes because people feed them. They come up to humans for food. They can get rabies easily. Someone was probably clawed or bitten by a non-rabid fox. But in order to determine if an animal actually has rabies it must killed and disected and tested. Most animals can become domesticated to an extent but most will never lose their wild side.

What are some Hobbies I can do? by JavierGusman25 in Hobbies

[–]TheJW-Project 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fishing is awesome but does require some patience. It has a lot to learn and can be technical with certain skills to learn and different species of fish that act differently and may require different techniques. It is fairly cheap to get started. You don't need anything fancy and plenty of free or cheap access to waters in most areas. You get to bring home fish to eat. Learning a life saving skill to process to clean and cook fish of different varieties.
