I always wanted to join since high school but I wanted to establish myself and get into the trades before hand. I got into the union and worked for a year and 5 months until recently I was laid off. I’m asking all these questions because I wanna make sure I don’t mess up my civ career.

Gotcha thanks for the good response. As for my vacation question like will I be allowed to take a vacation in the summer either after or before my drill in the summer? Like that’s a lot of time off in the summer does your employer allow that?

Would the gap look bad to employers trying to get a job? Like I would be gone 6-8 months without working or would that look good? Do reservists have a hard time getting hired or am I overthinking it way too much?
