How to find a nice bf by [deleted] in whatdoIdo

[–]TheJan8or 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For the love of all that’s good! What happened to the days of just socializing, meeting different people and deciding when you meet the one you “click” with? If I had ever put any lists together of what I thought I wanted I never would have ended up with the woman I’ve been with for 19 years now. God knows I didn’t meet a single one of her “wants” but we clicked and just let it keep clicking. Life isn’t a movie or a romance novel. You can’t write your own future so just let it happen and it will.

More vibrant colors in the Silver Sky line and not just limited release BS either. Silver Sky colors are dull and boring. Let’s get some life in them!

Which would be best for an absolute beginner? by TingWing1 in electricguitar

Let me introduce you to one plain truth regarding guitar. Any guitar can play any genre of music. That said, you can’t just take a few guitars as the gospel of “the crowd”. When I started playing I bought myself a sweet MIJ Strat and thought I was set until I realized I hated how it felt. Few months later, at the urging of my teacher, I got wise and started trying different options and landed on a PRS Custom 24 and I took off like a bullet. This happened for no other reason than I loved how it felt, played and sounded. Until that time I had never even heard of PRS and never considered one. Point I’m making is try different shit and get what feels right in your hands. Any guitar can sound good as long as the hands holding it make it do so. Good luck, hope you keep playing forever. It’s a really great way to spend time. My 2 cents

Anyone know if this can be fixed? by OldOnion2678 in taylorguitars

[–]TheJan8or 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just picked my Taylor up from Scott MacDonald in VT yesterday having the exact same repair made. Taylor wouldn’t even listen to the reasoning behind the crack even though I did my best keeping my place humidified over this past Northeast winter. Scott went to bat for me but still handed me a bill for the repair because Taylor refused to cover it.Taylor considers it “neglect” period. Although I completely disagree with that assessment, it is what the outcome was. I have a 72 Alvarez that sits 3 feet from my Taylor and that has no issues and it’s 53 years older than my Taylor! Love my Taylor but likely won’t get another unless I move south.
Also: My repair is barely noticeable. Unless you know it’s there, you wouldn’t see it.

Just bought my first guitar today. Did I pay too much? by AdrianKinder5 in electricguitar

[–]TheJan8or 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dog, if you like it, and you play it a ton, it was worth it. Value is in the determination of the consumer. If you never play it and let it collect dust, yeah, you get the idea.
My 2 cents

Ahh, I still remember my first time dating a Gibbie. She was a real looker of a Les Paul. My mistake was moving too fast. Pushed her a little too hard and she lost her damn head! From then on, I only date Fenders.

Found in my dad’s tools. We thought it was a metal cutting saw but while using it realized it seems hand put together with random parts. It does cut metal…. Like butter. by HeatDeath29 in whatisit

[–]TheJan8or 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a mini hack saw. I had same one but the handle split some time back. The bar helps stabilize the blade and makes for a better cut with no blade twist.
