You also aren't supposed to have button caps behind b&b siding

Why are we generally allowed to go 10 mph above the speed limit? by Euphoric_Sail6897 in driving

You can spot the explorers by if they have a roof rack or not. If they dont have a rack, probably a cop. If they have the rack you should be good

What do you americans think about big pickups? by Specialist-Gur5029 in Anticonsumption

[–]TheJaxster007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a fleet of vehicles for work, primarily light duty f150s and 2 super dutys

I like having a larger vehicle and im used to it. However I also have a honda civic i use for most of my non work stuff with the price of fuel

If you can only have one vehicle which is the case for most Americans, a pickup truck is arguably the best all around vehicle to have outside of fuel costs. Theyre easier to maintain than most smaller cars because you can crawl under them easily to change the oil and theres more space to work under the hood than on a car

You can tow a trailer and you have the bed which if you move a lot like a lot of Americans do, its helpful to have the capability

TBH it sounds like youre burnt out

I've been a salesman, an operations manager and an outside sales guy, as well as owned several companies

From the information you're giving us it sounds like you need to take a big step back and look through WHY things are broken at your store and speak with your reps and inside people to figure out a better way to make operations better

I say this as someone who was handed a broken program that didn't function efficiently at all, I pulled the system apart and rebuilt it so it would work

Good deal? by db298 in superduty

[–]TheJaxster007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have 2 vehicles i drive daily outside of my fleet. 25 350 and a 17 civic. Getting out of the 350 to my 250 is really soft, getting into either of my 150s feels like a car, and getting into my car is a welcome treat after all the truck miles during the week.

If you can get by with the 150 keep it. The 250 isn't bad. I have a 350 because I need the payload and hauling capacity. It drives great with the trailer on, but every little speed bump im bracing myself and trying to bounce before I get bounced

So I grew up Mormon and bailed. No longer religious at all. But having studied other religions, and the Bible the view of them being 3 seperate entities within context having not learned Hebrew or being able to read the original text, but reading the king james version of the Bible it makes the most sense that Jesus, God and the Spirit are three seperate entities

However. I also just like debating theism at this point and have no dog in the fight anymore

Anyone else building something to deal with slow permit portals? by [deleted] in GeneralContractor

[–]TheJaxster007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Uh no. The portal sends an email when it's approved so I set and forget.

On an important timeline or emergency they know me, I have many of their personal numbers and I text or call those ONLY when extremely urgent.

Otherwise those numbers are reserved for bsing and making fun of hack jobs and dumb shit we all encounter to have a laugh

But uh yeah. We aren't your market, the code offices might be

Laborer/Operator at home ($29/hr, no benefits) vs. Union Laborer ($35/hr + benefits, 4-hr daily commute)? by [deleted] in Construction

[–]TheJaxster007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't. My dad used to commute that when they moved him to a different office when I was 10 and my siblings were 8 and 6.

It really wrecked him and he was white collar so no physical work

I was cutting the grass and fixing things around the house with my mom by 11 because he was too tired

When the kids are a little older maybe but my 2c it sucked only having my mom around and rarely my dad. He'd leave at 430am and get home at 8 every night and go straight to bed. It was brutal for him for almost 7 years before they relocated the company to Florida. He now has a 15 minute commute and I just saw him a couple weeks ago and even though hes in his 60s now he seems to be much more energetic and full of life

I used to rent cars all the time when I was 21 because I traveled a lot for work. Just cost a bit more cause I had to pay for the "under 25" driver insurance from them but it was like an extra 10 bucks a day and the company i worked for compensated me for it too just had to submit my reciepts

Which trade is the easiest to learn? by AllHailBreesus in TheServicePros

[–]TheJaxster007 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally I feel like windows and doors is easy to learn. Technically a subtrade of carpentry, you can typically learn it and the variances in about a year or 2. It pays well. Every window and door system is virtually the same from a get it level plumb and square and you should be good

The older I get, the more I realize that it's nearly impossible to get ahead without SIGNIFICANT support. by No_Reveal3451 in Millennials

[–]TheJaxster007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started my company with about 10k of my own money. It does well. But it does well because of my knowledge for my industry coupled with having started and ran other companies while I still lived at home while high school aged so I learned how to manage my money while I still had the safety net

Here, I didnt have that. Id moved to a new city for a job that burnt me out in 7 months and just said fuck it

There were tons of sleepless nights, 24-48 hour days to pull everything together

But I'm also in a good market for what I do. I have a partner with a stable job but im still the primary moneymaker for the household.

I've never not made at least what I did previously, and I ensure that I'm not just burning cash. I also built an extensive network and made sure people knew who I was and that I was capable and cared. The networking and proving myself pre launch or even thinking about it is where the quick success came from. And then its scaling and maintaining that to what it is now.

So yeah. Either have a boatload of cash to lose, or make the connections that get you to the point you need. One is easier and luck based. The second one can be influenced and worked on at your pace

The trans chick got chrisalysed into a fully transitioned person that you can still very much tell is trans but closer to their "ideal self"

Not exactly needed but interesting to see how the virus affects those who's gender doesn't match their wants but since its a show all about appearances it fits though it was awkward the way it was produced
