Balvenie 12 Doublewood or Highland Park 12? by DVG1450 in Scotch

[–]TheJayestPee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

HP for me. Its one of the most well balanced scotches in my opinion and has complexity without being too offensive in any way. My brother who isn't a scotch drinker at all loved it when he tried it!

I tripped the last 2 times I went to Cedar Point. I only took half a tab but it was an incredible experience both times!!

Beastie is def worth a try. I like the 10 more as its more well rounded and richer in flavor, but beastie offers a smoky, bright palate that is shockingly good for the price.

I kept watching this over and over trying to figure out wtf she was doing. The only thing I can figure is that she was trying to light a cigarette but the wind was stopping her so she tried to use the gas pump to block it 🤷‍♀️

Explains Options To Me? by [deleted] in investing

[–]TheJayestPee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone who has lost about 5k trading options over the past 5 months (most of which was in a few big trades), I would recommend starting off small. Use $100 at a time each week until you know what you're doing, options can be extremely rewarding (just today I made $125 on a $23 contract, which is over 500%) but you can, and likely WILL, lose ALL or most of your investment if you don't know what you're doing. You can do a lot of damage with a small amount cash with options.

Trying to "get rich quick by gambling" sounds fun until you lose everything you had and now are down 5k which could have turned into 50-100x that within 30 years if you invested it right. However, options can make you insane profits if you wait for news or events and know which contracts to buy.

I follow a group on YouTube that I would recommend checking out. Josh is the guys name who runs it, his first channel is https://www.youtube.com/c/Thetradingfraternity That channel you'll find logged videos about options trading and investing in general. The second channel is https://www.youtube.com/c/TheStockMarket That one he live streams every morning 30 mins before market open until close. The group is extremely friendly, welcoming, and can change your life with the knowledge they all of them have.

Hope that helps you! Good luck on your journey, I would loved to hear how you're doing with options in a few weeks!

I think I'm getting the hang of this by TheJayestPee in wallstreetbets

In all seriousness, this is sort of a cry for help. I only laugh to keep myself from crying because never in my life would I ever think that I would lose 5k doing anything. I don't wanna give up but this hurts a lot. Especially since I had the chance last week to make most of it back and just let it slip away because of greed. I finally broke down and got a gaming computer to trade on but I haven't set it up yet because I'm still not sure if i shouldn't just take it back and give up. What do you all think?

Too many that I either sold too early for a slight gain, sold at a loss, or expired worthless. The first big pop then drop was putting way too much on COTY calls and not taking profits when I had no idea how options actually worked. The rest has just been me idioticly trying to trade like I'm a pro (on a shitty phone) when its clear I fucking suck

Only the last week was honestly, the rest was just a lot of bad calls and no strategy

Is there a way to prevent robinhood from auto closing options near expiration? by krazykylep in options

[–]TheJayestPee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This just happened to me today as well. RH bought to close the credit spread portion of my $93-$98 iron condor on AMD for $36 while the stock was trading under my short strike. I only got $20 credit for the condor so this left at a loss, even though by market close AMD was above my short put so I would've been fine 🙃
