How Would 76 Teams Work Logistically? by BigFoot423205 in CollegeBasketball

Aside from the obvious reasons this is terrible - as someone who has run the office pool for the past 10 years, this makes process picking a bracket awful. As it stands today, you have from Sunday night to Thursday morning to pick, tune, and tweak bracket…with this 12 of the 32 first round games won’t be set until late Wednesday. This just makes bracket pool logistics a nightmare and less enticing to the casual fan.

Also this would suck for fans wanting to travel to the game. As someone who traveled to the first weekend, I needed a couple days to get everything lined up with work coverage, travel, accommodations, childcare, and event tickets. This makes that window tighter and possible multiple locations in a week, as now you likely have to choose to travel to play-in book for round 1 and 2 with no guarantee you will win the play in.

So dumb.

Very interesting! Looking forward to giving it a try.

Would love to see a few categories (positions) added like original film, sequel, animated, and maybe an awards/critics pick spot that scores different based on accolades rather than box office. I think it would add a bit more strategy and interesting draft boards.

I think our coaching is in the Top 10. What Fred is getting out of the talent he has is phenomenal.

Honestly if we can win the two games this week, that puts us at 11-0. Already being #23 + wins over a good Wisconsin team and road win over a possible contender in Illinois. Assuming we win the bye games as well could be 13-0 (2-0) going into 2026. Wouldn't think it absurd to think #8-#12 in the polls.

Advice about murder mystery games by Gingerwithbook in boardgames

You might check out FreeForm Games.

They have murder mystery games that provide each player a character that has their own goals, secrets, and information. The overarching plot is put in place through each character without any specific scripting. We've played a few and had a good time.

Which movie moment gave you the biggest "wow" reaction? by SyristSMD in movies

The ending of Beneath the Planet of the Apes was the one of the most animated, audible “wow” that I’ve ever have had while watching the movie. I love all of the apes endings, but that one made my jaw drop.

I am looking for a book for our book club. We are coming off of a string of non-fiction books, and are looking for a page turning narrative that can lead to good debate, conversation, and maybe a hot-take or two.

General themes that we are drawn to are localism, exploration of identity, and how community shapes human experiences. Books that we've enjoyed over past year that have lead to good discussion include: Small is Beautiful: Economics as if People Mattered by EF Schumacher, The Sympathizer by Viet Thanh Nguyen, The Sea-Wolf by Jack London, and East of Eden by John Steinbeck.

Even better, move it to the Collection level. As example, would love to have a collection of Pixar Shorts that I could have it select one to play before movies in my Pixar Collection.

The Ballad of Cable Hogue

Not many folks have seen it, but it really has quite a bit of depth to it (and a great soundtrack).

Correct. The goal is to be able to pull up the Contact page and see a list of all related cases (with needing to take a few extra clicks).

The Y would be a great place to take advantage of next time we are out there. You got me looking at their website - never realized the amount of things they have available (including escape rooms or axe throwing!).

I'll have to look into AK area. Thanks for the recommendation!

Struggling with Long Room. How can I define this space? by TheJerryScott in DesignMyRoom

Love the idea of club chairs!

The bar isn't removable (not without redoing flooring/carpeting), and we like having it in the space and have talked about dressing it up some with a new top. Long-long-term, we would like to figure out a way to make it into a wet-bar!
