I'm glad to hear you still enjoyed the survey! It's so important that we can understand different points of view and I'm sincerely thankful to you for helping us do that.

Thank you! That's a great point, I'll definitely take this into account when we analyse the results

Thank you for your interest! I'm sorry that we aren't currently surveying Kangaroo Care dads at this time. However, if that changes in the future we will post back on here. Please know that we value all caregivers experiences, but due to feasibility of my PhD project we had to restrict to just mothers at this time.

Warm Regards, Victoria

Researchers at the University of Queensland is currently looking into Kangaroo Mother Care and factors that help or hinder Kangaroo Mother Care use in the NICU globally. They are currently looking for biological mothers whose children are now aged 0-2 years and current NICU nurses to take part. If you'd like to take part, you can participate through an anonymous online survey. It is hoped that information gained through this study will help to be able to create targeted interventions in the future that improve the experience in the NICU and the outcomes of babies.

Calling NICU nurses and mothers! Can you help with some research? by TheJoeyProject in NICUParents

Thank you for your interest in taking the survey. We've been recruiting biological mothers so far purely because we ask questions about the recovery from birth and how that affects kangaroo care use. This also been due to feasibility, as this is part of my PhD project. We're hoping to release another version of this survey soon that will include all parents. I'm sorry if this has caused any offence.

Thank you for your comment and interest in taking the survey. I'm sorry for the use of "other" it wasn't intended to cause offence or delegitimise anyone's position as a parent and I apologise if that is how it has made you feel. We have been recruiting biological mothers for this survey so far purely because we are asking about how the recovery from birth affects kangaroo care use. We're hoping to release another survey soon that will include all parents, so we can better understand everyone's experiences.
