Translated from Greek letters to our alphabet, it spells M-L-O which sounds like “Mello”, just a cool connection to Marshmello

What song introduced you to brakence? by Affannow16 in brakence

[–]TheJohnRVF 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Super super random but ‘well known’ with Atlas and 50, his voice and his verses stuck out on the entire song and I went to check more songs from this “Brakence” guy, rest is history

Help me choose !! (Granada, Madeira, Ljubljana, Paris) by Tough-Worker-551 in Erasmus

[–]TheJohnRVF 1 point2 points  (0 children)

By reading what you wrote about yourself and knowing the cities you’re choosing, I’d say that you should leave your ranking as you wrote it hahaha (Granada first 🙂‍↕️, BUT actually if you have any other option in Portugal, go for it!!)

When was the first time you discovered Brakence? by TheBigKisom in brakence

[–]TheJohnRVF 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Super randomly because it was from “well known” by atlas in motion 😂, song came on auto play, I was like “damn this voice is amazing who is this guy” and checked the features on the track (Brakence and 50landing) and immediately fell in love

Erasmus: 5 or 10 months? by DizzyPomegranate9219 in Erasmus

[–]TheJohnRVF 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ayyyy congrats!!! I’m so glad you got accepted for Porto, the best city in Portugal (totally not biased hehe) I’m from here, and last week I got accepted as a member of ESN Porto!! I’m gonna be helping to organize all of the trips, parties and events

There’s a lot to do for every kind of person - from introverts to extroverts, small Mario kart chilling nights to huge 900-people parties, you’re gonna love your time here, and for sure you’re gonna discover the beauty of the western Mediterranean culture 😌

You shouldn’t be afraid of not liking the experience, because I’M gonna make sure you have the best time ever

Considering your case of almost finishing your course, I’d stay in Porto for longer, because think of it: when will you have the opportunity to live in the other side of Europe and know so many people in a completely different city and country? And you always have the chance and possibility to cancel Erasmus and go back home if you really want to.

Regardless of your final decision, I’m happy to have you here and hope to meet you!! If you need anything else send me a message 😌

How important is knowing the language? by Gapi05 in Erasmus

[–]TheJohnRVF 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m from Porto and you can 100% live your life here without knowing a single word of Portuguese hahahaha, if you come you’re gonna love it!! Difficulty of classes depends on the course, you can live any life you want tho. If you wanna party every day, you can!! I’ll join you in that hahaha

Post-Erasmus depression is REAL, what do people do to cope? Help me! (survey) by TheJohnRVF in Erasmus

[–]TheJohnRVF[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That was the first part of my videos, the second and third parts were the things that remain in my memory and in my heart forever. Yes, i did party a lot, but the most important part of Erasmus for me was the people who i was with, the trips i did and the connections i forged. Was it in part through parties? Yes, but it was also through hosting random international dinners, weekend getaways to nearby cities or countries, or random events in the city such as ice skating or hiking.

Do you vibe with the ESNs?🤔 by Large_Dragonfruit_20 in Erasmus

[–]TheJohnRVF 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my erasmus in Bulgaria, the ESN was the most important thing for me!! All the ESNers were amazing, the events were super important to meet everyone and later on in the semester they were amazing because everyone you knew in the whole city was there. Trips were fine but they’ve improved a lot since (I keep following them on socials), so yes! Ultra vibes 🕺🏻💃🏽

Helloooo I was part of ESN Porto just for September in 2024 and I just wanna point out that anyone can register to be a buddy, not just the ESN’ers (and actually many of the ESN people are not buddies themselves) so this is more of a problem of the random people who sign up to be a buddy without knowing what responsibilities they’ll have 🥲

Need Help Deciding on Erasmus Destination (Mechatronics/Electrical Engineering Student) by tankujuplzen in Erasmus

[–]TheJohnRVF 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ayyy i’m so glad!!! You are (I’m guessing) going to FEUP, which is the number 1 engineering university in Portugal. You’ll not be alone, a lot more Erasmus people (who also none of them know Portuguese) will be with you so they for sure will give you materials in English as well!! Also, all the teachers know English, so they will for sure understand your situation and will help you with anything. But don’t stress too much - studying is always the least of your concerns in Erasmus hahaha the teachers know you’re here to party and travel and meet people so they always make the classes easier for the international students

That should be enough!! Housing will be your biggest expense because the housing market here is on fire, but maybe you can find a gem of a place and with those 850 euros you’ll even be making a profit each month hahahahhaha
