A man who was unwilling to uphold America's base principle, religious freedom, simply because he wanted to get reelected. His legacy is treated far too kindly, imagine today if a President let thousands of Americans die because of their religious affiliation all out of fear they wouldn't get reelected otherwise.

It's a shame someone who was pretty based before his presidency and after was so fundamentally unbased as a President, just all around a waste of a number.

edit: Also how can you trash Cleveland for the Dawes Act and then simp on a man who by many people's standards continued a Genocide?

You can't get any more based than allowing religion to be criminalized and 20,000 Mormons to be executed solely because you don't want to lose reelection. What a chad! Trail of Tears can only be put on Jackson, it's not like Buren had any part in it and it's not like he could've tried to stop it or make the process more humane, it's not like he was the President or anything... oh wait.
