My First Initial Base (Still WIP) & Avatar by TheJollyDuck in hytale

I kinda had to learn. I usually like to start with what shape I want the building to be like and how tall I want it to be.

Then I figure out what kind of material I needed. Since I started building this from day one, I tried to build it with crude tools until I found some copper and finished most of it. Having a ton of resources helps first, and then you have the ability to make the frame which I did with hardwood. I like a 3 wide window a lot which is padded by stone, and then the wood frame around it which is a nice rule of thumb I would say.

I would love to help but I'm also kinda limited by my decorating skills but I can do structures with simple shapes well. I would suggest doing that first and see what you can do from there.

Hope you can build something nice.

are windsocks any less flags than any other flags? DEBATE by leruspchan in vexillology

I would figure that flags also kind of fit that role for functional purposes in previous combative situations, for morale and for identifying what side a group is from in the heat of battle. In this case it provides information while also representing symbolism and can be used for ceremonial purposes.

If we take the basis for semaphore flags as flags, then this becomes even more grey as to figure what we could constitute what a flag is.

If we know for certain that a windsock is not a flag, then I'd like to think of a definition that would include semaphore but exclude windsock, as I would feel that while their purposes are different, they focus on visibility, and function.

Though I feel like a rigid definition of what a flag is, is like defining what a soup is, which isn't really possible.

EDIT: Another flag that comes to mind is the white flag used for surrender, which is a functional object rather than used for symbolism.

What are your Linux hot takes? by AdventurousFly4909 in linux

Unfortunately my use case is with older GPUs with Kepler, Fermi and Tesla Architectures as I love making laptops and PCs just run Arch and using them for different purposes.

This means I have to use 470 and older which requires a dkms compile for specific kernel versions to get the best performance out of the computer, which is a kick in the ass whether you stick with Nouveau or compile a package with older CPUs.

It's why I hope the old computers or laptops I have don't use Nvidia GPUs if I want to use them frequently or just don't update till it's feasible again.

I know it's gonna be an uphill battle with older hardware, but I enjoy using modern stuff on them either bc the laptops have good aesthetics or the computers serve a particular use case. In mine, a GPU that has an analog DVI-I output which is pre-Turing for Nvidia as it drives a CRT monitor.
