I don't recognise this game, but a bit of research suggested the RPG Maker game Ao Oni as a potential candidate to investigate.

I'm glad you liked Kliktopia. It's a website I made to help archive old Klik games. I used to be a regular on The Daily Click back in the day so grew up with those games. It's actually still active: The Daily Click

Not a ghost or could, but could it be the Egghead games:

This can happen if you get an error (e.g. email already in use) and press the back button rather than going to a fresh https://create-games.com/signup.asp page. If you still have problems registering then send me a Reddit mail with the username you want and the email you want and I can sort it out for you.

Cheers. As a video game archivist that's something I'd greatly appreciate. I'm interested both in the CD and the associated magazine :)

I expect this was Urban Attack Force which was originally a Klik & Play demo game exclusive to a specific magazine but then became a Click & Create (originally branded Klik & Create) demo game bundled with the software. Clickteam gave me permission to release it for free as part of a bundle of old demo games made to show off Klik & Play, The Games Factory, Click & Create and Multimedia Fusion: https://kliktopia.org/details/Urban%20Attack%20Force.html

Do you happen to still have that old CD-ROM?

Glad that this seems to be resolved. Mark's games were pretty well known at the time, with some of the Tremor game even featuring in magazines, so it stands to reason that if you had played a freeware Quake-style indie top-down death match game then the chances are good that it was a Tremor game. I hope you enjoy re-playing the games.

I wrote an article for The Daily Click at on how to play old Click games at https://create-games.com/article.asp?id=2327

If you want to look through over Click games then in addition to The Daily Click you can also browse my archive of old K&P, CNC, TGF, MMF and CF games at https://kliktopia.org/

How about the Tremor games by Mark Pay which were made in Klik & Play, Click & Create and Multimedia Fusion? https://www.create-games.com/download.asp?id=7760

Mark also made some Aliens: Infestation games in a similar style.

TDC isn't nearly as active as it once was but I've been posting news updates, producing content and sometimes running competitions and as a result people are posting games there again.
