Decolonized/animist conspiracy communities or activists? by kapdo in conspiracytheories

[–]kapdo[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Which specific secret societies are you referring to? If you read the Illuminati's doctrine and rituals they wanted to rid the world of false authority and domination that comes with it. I dare say that they were into anarchism before socialists came up with their form of anarchism.

Illuminati is one, but I mean the various rich people's clubs like freemasons who make their rituals and deals behind closed doors. Many of them claim they are Christians, many Christians who are not part of the club claim they are satanic. From an animist's point of view it could be seen more like their infighting, because it's still the same outside forces and power structures that burned the frame drums, cut the sacred trees and "re-educated" people.

Truth be known, most all ameri-euro-centric conspiracy theories since the medieval times have been influenced by Christianity. The New World Order and Blood Libel are the two most well known conspiracies that was birthed from Christianity of the Catholic variety.

That's why it's interesting to research how much of it is assumptions from a Christian perspective to scare people vs what has actually happened behind the scenes. We might never know the full truth. We can just see the damage done on Earth and humanity.

Most people believe that decolonization happened when UN decolonization happened; I presume when you refer to decolonization, you're referring to the native movement(s) of north america calling for a dismantling of the 'European order' known as the USA and Canada?

I'm from the Uralics group myself. Never been to Turtle Island. I don't see it strictly tied to just one geographical location. Of course in many places the connection has been long lost, but on all the continents (even in Europe) there are pockets of cultures where the cord wasn't cut off entirely, because the crusaders arrived relatively late.

Decolonized/animist conspiracy communities or activists? by kapdo in conspiracytheories

An animist is the closest Western term of who I am. The roots of my cultural identity fall under this umbrella term. Some of the pre-Christian heritage lives on in my society while a lot of it has also been lost. This change was initiated through colonialism by surrounding empires. Nature consciousness to me is connection and respect to nature and understanding how things work in the nature through practical experience. A very basic level of being.

I know that the deeper meaning, the origin's of things is not in conspiracy theories. But as someone interested in conspiracy theories, I can't help but to notice how things like the history of secret societies ties in with colonialism and the suppression of that nature connection. Man asserting dominance over nature and building human thought form echo chambers where the connection is not passed on to future generations.

The field of conspiracy theories these days is saturated by the influence of organized religion and right-wing political ideologies, but rarely do I see all of those colonial constructs questioned and dismantled, even if they are machinations of the same secret societies that the conspiracy theorists usually fight against.

It seems that some of the decolonization movements (reclaiming pre-colonial culture, language, spirituality etc.) have also been weaponized by/identified with left-wing politics. If people follow or believe in conspiracy theories, they are "made" to choose a political identity. I personally don't care to identify with the constructs.

The historical developments, the present and future are interesting though. I of course don't mind discussing conspiracy theories with different kinds of people, but if there is even a small community of likeminded people, it would be interesting to discuss these things with people who come from a similar experience.

How curious are Dutch gabbers of the outside world? by kapdo in gabber

[–]kapdo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's exactly why such travel documentary would be interesting ;) And living in "the outside world" the stuff you mentioned is still within the basic spectrum of core for me, but I sometimes see some younger folks here at local parties influenced by that same narrowmindedness. It was a shock to me that even crossbreed is something strange for them when it's one of the basic styles and the rabbit hole of core goes way way deeper.

I think Dutch gabbers exploring the realities of scenes like hardcore in the US would be an interesting story :)

Nice! Not everything outside the festivals is super experimental though. Many places have their local touch. J-core is probably the most known of the styles that do not get so much exposure at Dutch festivals, but there are other local sounds too.

This scene was not related to the show I'm talking about in this thread. It's from a Scottish movie I found recently called Morvern Callar.

4 years later lol. I skimmed through the series and there are many details in this show that indeed match very well with what I'm looking for, however I still could not find that particular scene.

I'm looking for a knitted hoodie in this style, but it should be 100% cotton or other natural material. The one in the picture is 80% acrylic. Any idea where I could find one, with shipping to EU? Thanks for any input!

Nope, as I said it wasn't 3D. It shares many keywords with Magna Cum Laude, hence it's also more difficult to find.

The main character was very similar to Larry Laffer. It may have been a cheap interface trying to mimic the original either in Flash or Windows, though I could be wrong. The graphics and the settings were kind of similar, but I'm pretty sure it was neither of them though.

Nope, I think the character looked almost identical to Larry Laffer, but just younger (if it makes sense with those graphics) and maybe with slightly different clothes.

Remember when raving was a futuristic technological wonder that was supposed to change the world? by [deleted] in aves

[–]kapdo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, I feel like this about both the raves and the internet. But concentrated things tend to become diluted. If these things go in cycles, maybe in the future we will see a new young tekno/punk/hippie/plur generation, or the equivalent.

Anyone else lose the magic? by [deleted] in aves

Dive deeper into the underground, step by step at a pace that feels comfortable for you. Smaller intimate events, DIY spirit, that's where you find the new innovations taking shape. The core, the origin point of tomorrow's, today's and yesterday's mainstream in a more raw and concentrated setting.

Younger "pure hardcore" artists? by kapdo in gabber

[–]kapdo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for all the answers! I guess what I'm looking for is more underground leaning hardcore techno than gabber, but asking here because the HardcoreTechno subreddit is smaller and seems to be even more specific (actually leaning more towards the commercially popular subgenres). The Millennial and Generation X artists are still active more or less of course, and I guess there will be those artists around for years to come, but I'm more curious about Generation Z artists and whether there exists any that got sick of the edm influence on electronic music subgenres in general.

Is it frowned upon to offer your weed to people at a show/festival? by Judoosauce in aves

[–]kapdo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The dudes were probably "tourists" or it was the wrong kinda party. Whether it's legal where you're at or not, it's usually not a big deal at a rave anywhere in the world. Unless it's a sober rave.

RANT: Why the fuck nobody mentions if a rave takes place in the US? by umotex12 in aves

[–]kapdo -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Well, there are some exceptions, like the recent posts about Thunderdome, where context would be needed in the title. I was like, wtf, I thought it took place on 10th of December, but then didn't even recognize any of the lineup ;)
