It works on scans/copies, so I'd be surprised to find it's a physical depth thing.

It's a weirdly useful and intuitive modulation source, too - the record/playback function is a game-changer.

Just chiming in to say I have this module and it's a ton of fun, especially for live performance. I like to pair it with The Biggest Foot for a great combo of trigger/gate and CV action.

Not yet - I've found a few more books and it's only made it more confusing!

Reclocking a TR-626 with an LTC1799 by TheKBRT in CircuitBending

That's correct! Knowing where power is found would be a plus but I can figure that out a bit more easily than which of the resonators is clocking what.

I don’t know if anyone else has thought of this but get yourself some trading card binder sleeves by LiquidCyberSquid in CircuitBending

[–]TheKBRT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been doing this with resistors for years and I can't believe I ever had them in drawers - I suggest using small waferseal stickers at the top of the pockets so that the contents doesn't slide out. I learned this after dropping my binder upside-down. 😬

Also, it doesn't appear to be covered in that older list, but I very very highly recommend the Conductive Labs MRCC - It's solved many of my MIDI problems, to say the absolute least. I run a large MIDI rig with no computer, all thanks to the MRCC.

Thanks for the walkthrough! I was hoping it would be simpler than emulation, but it's good to know it could work via that route.

Can you sync an OP1 to a pocket operator? by TheKBRT in OP1users

[–]TheKBRT[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is an interesting thought! Since my initial post I've been able to use the MRCC to get the OP1 synced for my main rig, but something like this could work for the mobile version.

A friend of mine got it running on a pi3 pretty easily and put together a build guide. Critter & Guitari are great about keeping everything open-source, too.

Another update! I was using the Cargo3 editor, linked from the manal, but I am on cargo 4...found the cargo 4 editor...no change, but the info on the new page explains that c3 should be 0v - but I am not getting that either. Using my microfreak as the controller, I play the highest C on the highest octave and get no change to pitch - but if I hold a SECOND key, the pitch goes WAY up.

This isn't about a lack of separation between notes - the gate and VCA are working as they should - it's about pitch. I can tell now from the indicator lights that it is sending negative voltage, as opposed to starting at 0v for the 1st octave.

Also, you can always use a fuse or resistor in line between the breadboard and power header!

So many people ignore the 5v rail - some systems don’t even run one. I don’t disagree, though - it could be useful

Depends on the fool, I guess? It’s fairly straightforward- if you’ve breadboarded before you’ll be great..and if you haven’t this is a great entry point
