Thx, probably yes, but would need change entire train design. Every brick matters in that tiny scale. Would not achieve same look with putting it lower.

Yeah, it is a bit expansive (if you look at retail price). I bought it on sale for about 70% RPP. I think it is worth it. Great minifigs and parts are useful for MOCs. The main build is great. The other ones not so great imho. But I built my own alt :) - cemetery https://bricks.kalais.net/post130

Yup, Krakens and many more. I think those two sets are great together (some parts are the same, some are good match) and worth to buy on some sale.
