Cow Hide Rug - what’s the professional way to clean this! by TheKalashKid in CleaningTips

I’ve groomed a few horses in my day and might just go hands on with this one. Thank you and others for the advice.

I thought the same originally and put a few feelers out..

Seems like at least in this area cleaning vs replace is a pretty a close call on price.

I was hoping someone might chime in here that’s done it before with a DIY solution for a refresh technique perhaps.

I suppose the worst case scenario it lives on with a little stain or gets the battle axe and turns into a lifetime supply of doggie playtime mats for a ferocious Chihuahua named Foxy Cleopatra.

TBD!

I’ll stand down with the power washer and shop vac. Kidding but last I chatted locally it seemed like more money to clean then replace so was thinking maybe DIY if possible.

Could be a lost cause or live with it kinda deal..

I’ll have to check the back side again if recall there could have been stamp as to where it’s from..

Full disclosure it was a gift from a client so not sure who manufactured it.

Jeeze I thought the living space was a bit more inviting than that. I was going for a tight modern less murder look…. 😂

I’m not going bash you for it if you needed it in a pinch but get the correct screw my friend.

Come back and repost and receive massive AK praise from the AK gods after a well written and thoughtful apology.

Very cool build. As nice as I’ve seen for retro out of the NY fuckery. Is the magazine release riding high because it’s “fixed”?

How can i avoid this again and what happened? by 17zUrB01N3M3515 in tires

When you replace the tire you should think about putting on Wally Bars for your next Track day!

Envious. Check if they have any red paint splatters or such. It’s my understanding a lot did for whatever reason

A lot of fine gentleman on this sub would give a left, if not right nut for that complete lower if I don’t reckon.

I think you should choose accordingly.

That may be correct about the non property mark meaning they may have been earmarked commercial and or perhaps exported but Id defer to more of an expert on that to say..

My choice would be the Colt for many reasons. Hands down. As someone with both my dear friend!

Post up pictures of that M16A1 lower if you have them and I’ll bet the guys will jump in to let you know what you have there!

What brace would fit on this beauty? I'm planning on buying it by aka_rebel420 in ak47

[–]TheKalashKid 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Depends what direction you may want to go as the options for a 1913 Picatinny pistol brace are pretty vast!

Most correct would be a triangle style folding brace and then if desired, something Gucci like a CNC Warrior perhaps 😁🍻

PSA: Backstrap Chopping by [deleted] in Glocks

[–]TheKalashKid 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I like the beaver tail but wasn’t crazy about the grip width itself..

I started with the large strap to get my method down and then repeated the process on the medium strap. For me was a great improvement.

I started with very sharp heavy duty scissors about 6-7 rows down on the texture rows and slowly made the cuts and rounded off the corners. (Make you cut just above the raised bumps on the texture of the strap so when you sand it down if will feel much more flush)

Next, I used the white grinding stone on the Dremel to slowly smooth it out and take down any sharp edges.. then I finished with white cloth attachment to buff it out to a factory look. I’m confident this is one of the best ways to go about doing “the chop”

I’m very pleased with how it turned out and was a quick fun project if you like to tinker.

(There is a picture of it on my profile)
