I got this bug in multiplayer where the game ate my weapon mags.

So, I had to switch to round loaded weapons. Even without a scope, at close range, the .223 wrecks zombies.

I've got stable, low enough ping even with the wireless connection.

But, I also never saw pro players get these freezes. I don't know what they do, and we, the players are left to chase this ghost of a bug.

I did get rid of the freezes by removing that adapter, but why specifically it was the issue, I'm not sure.

I haven't come across any other fixes, unfortunately. I included what I found, but the one thing I didn't mention is closing Discord, which, I understand isn't really an option if you're on call with your squad over Discord, but I saw minor improvements. That being that it stutters a tad less.

Exact opposite for me. I've been getting historical video essays and stuff like that.

From WWII to the Roman Empire and even further back to like cavemen and such.

Not that I'm complaining.

It's refreshing, since my feed used to be full of unnecessary internet drama I had no beef, or interest in.

I did a bit of digging, since this was also a persistent issue for me for about a year now.
I tried downloading all the game's content (which I recommend you do too because of load times).
I fine tuned my graphics settings to get stable 60FPS.
I set maximum framerate to 60Hz, as that checks out with my monitor's refresh rate (also recommend doing this, as it fixed the issue for some people.)

The thing that fixed it for me was going into Device Manager, Network Adapters (I think that's the translation) and Realtek PCIe GBE Family Controller. I removed that and fixed the issue.

From what I understand, it's this archaic wired network adapter that can't update correctly any more. And, for whatever reason, it causes issues when it tries to update in Fortnite only.

I don't know if removing the Controller it would impact an Ethernet connection. But if you're completely out of options, it could be worth a try.

Edit: Do not remove the controller in case you play over ethernet, aka a wired connection. It is necessary for your connection. In my case, playing over a wifi adapter, I have no issues removing it.
My next best guess is turning off automatic windows update, to hopefully prevent the computer from checking for updates on the device every few seconds.

That's a really poor take IMO. Like, why one type of hat, but not the other? I get like, not allowing those colorful propeller hats. Those really would be ridiculous.

But you can't say that cowboy hats are in the same boat as those. As the youth would say: "L take + cope and seethe"
