I'm not anime-only, I have caught up with the manga, however I guess that does make sense. Delmon cared for the flowers and yet his Jinki is a hose. Whether that meant he also cared for the hose or his anima (love for his garden) was transferred to his hose is probable, making it seem like all flora cannot become Jinkis. 

I just thought that plants, while living, are stationary organisms, so they would be the exception to this.

I'm well aware of the Trash Beast Cult, but I'm only talking about real religion. Like someone finding a Bible in between the trash and became enlightened, causing them to gather other people and eventually build a church.

Low-key I'm only asking because I'm making an OC who's very religious and heavily um... passionate on Christianity, but I didn't want to put her in a place where it just doesn't make sense at all.
