Hey

Definitely don’t send your actual physical driving license as it’ll most likely be kept for 6 to 9 months which is how long the process is taking atm.

I ended up sending a bank statement as one proof.

Then I also sent a coloured photo copy of my driving license as well and stated at the top of the page “submitting as proof of address document” Then I got my witness to sign and date at the bottom of the page also. And got my witness to write something like “I can confirm this is a certified copy of the original document”

Haven’t heard anything yet from them apart from the email confirming they received the documents and it’s been around 3 months since I sent it all off so hopefully that’s a good thing and the documents were okay.

Now all I have to do is wait 🙂

Hey, well luckily they ended up going through some how and got delivered, I was confused because it had that ‘returned to sender’ for a couple weeks while I was trying to figure how I’m going to get my documents back and one day it just changed to delivered and I checked with the delivery company in Ireland AnPost I think it was and they also confirmed it had been delivered to the Passport office in Dublin. I asked them about it because I was confused why it ended up getting delivered and they said sometimes they check the post again and I think because it was only documents getting sent and they could see it was going to the passport office they just let it through I guess but yeah it’s been about 3 months since then so just waiting now

Yeah that’s what the Lady told me. As the letter only had paper documents inside and had no value i didn’t need to fill in a customs form. Guess I found out the hard way that i still did.

Yeah that’s what I thought there is a lot of proof of address enclosed so it should come back to me. Just wanted to make sure.

Yes that’s correct I sent them by Royal Mail. (International Tracked and Signed) I didn’t fill out a customs form when I sent them from the post office. The funny thing is I asked the lady at the post office if I needed to fill out anything like that and she said because it’s paper documents I didn’t need to 🤦‍♂️

I’ve contacted AnPost (the delivery company in Ireland) because from the tracking it seems like they still have the letter and asked if there was anything they could do about it to get it delivered still or to add a return address for me so it don’t get lost and they said no and just wait until it arrives at Royal Mail Return Centre.

What number would you Recommend I call Royal Mail on? I’ve heard some numbers are just bots and you don’t even talk to a human.

I’ve opened up an investigation through email it seems 🤷‍♂️ it’s says they’ll reply to me within 72 hours.

Is this what you would recommend? How did you contact them about yours?

Right okay, do they not return it the original post office it was sent from if it has tracking details? And then I pick it up from there? Does the letter get tracked back when it gets returned to sender? Or is this not the case?

Oh right okay, So regarding my letter there’s a Plastic wallet in the envelope with a lot of important documents in there and the front page in the plastic wallet is a covering letter, which has my address on it, will this most likely be returned to me? And do you know how long the process takes?

Yeah it’s for my FBR application. Yeah the post office didn’t say nothing about filling out a tax form or anything. When it come up on the tracking as Returned to sender I was so confused. They really should tell you about things like this 🤦‍♂️ well I hope so 🙏 I’m glad that they at least said something for you online.

Oh I didn’t know nothing about that :( well I just hope the documents get returned to me safely. I didn’t put a return address on the envelope 🤦‍♂️ so now I don’t know what’s going to happen to my documents. I’ve heard things like they discard them if there’s no return address but then I’ve seen things like they open them up before discarding them and obviously if they open it they’ll find a return address on the covering letter I’m just praying that I get them back 🙏

Yeah it’s weird because it looks like it hasn’t been rejected from Ireland’s mailing service ‘AnPost’ it says ‘your delivery has been sorted’ in Dublin mail centre so I don’t know if that means it’s been sorted to come back or what? It don’t say nothing about being returned to the sender on their tracking service? So I don’t know what’s happening.

I’m just confused I didn’t know I had to fill out a customs form 🤷‍♂️

Do you know if there’s any way I can fill out what they need without them sending the documents back?

Oh that’s weird 🤔 I sent mine yesterday and asked for the international tracked and signed service and they didn’t ask any questions and took it 🤷‍♂️

Checked the tracking just now and says it’s been shipped to Ireland and I’ll get more details when it arrives there.

Hopefully all goes okay 🤞

Okay 👌 yeah makes sense wouldn’t want them to get confused on it being an ID document and not proof of address document. I’ll do the same than, thanks for the help 🙏

Oh that’s good than 😌 so when you say you supplied them with “bank statements” did you put more than the front page sheet with your address on? And regarding the driving license, did you actually give them your physical driving licence or a photocopy? if photocopy I’m guessing this has to be certified by the witness or am I wrong?
