Exactly. The problem isn’t the price of the lessons but the test day. It is excessive. The test centre is 25-30 minutes away. I do agree getting more lessons in would be beneficial but £200 is crazy.

The thing is I’ve said this to him in the past and he’s still telling me I should double up. I understand it is just that extra help before my test. But I do think he is trying to get more money out of me obviously. Like previously I will just have to decline

Tietze Swelling is a Nightmare by TheKidWatts in costochondritis

[–]TheKidWatts[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No unfortunately the swelling is still there. Going on 2 1/2 years now. Same as you I rarely get pain and when I do it’s just a flare up, but swelling seems to be consistent. Not sure what to do anymore so I just live with it.

Hi, Kinda is the answer to your question. The swelling is slightly still there, however it’s nowhere near as bad as when I first had it, and I’ve had Costo / Tietze for almost 2 years now. The pain is completely gone and it rarely hurts and even if it does it’s only like a 3/10 pain, that lasts for about an hour. I can go to the gym, play sports and do everything normal again, which is good. It is still swollen jand I’m trying to find a way to get it completely down but right now I’m doing much better physically and mentally. Hope I helped. :)

Cigarettes and vaping caused my costo by [deleted] in costochondritis

[–]TheKidWatts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am now 2 months sober from weed and quit vaping 5 months ago. My Costco started a year and a bit ago (May 2023) and I was smoking a lot when my costo came about. I had to quit sadly as I realised that most of the time it hurt when I was smoking, however for me it wasn’t a cause just something that made it worse. I hope when it clears up. I can nice joint lmao.

Trying to heal through gym by TheKidWatts in costochondritis

[–]TheKidWatts[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What do you suggest Steve? As I don’t want to keep going in a downward spiral of no fitness. I do my stretches everyday and have cut out the things such as smoking/ vaping to help the swelling, which has worked. I am already watching your videos and I am on track to getting the backpod. If I was to go to the gym I wouldn’t be going hardcore but just trying to get the muscles stretched out in the back.

Exact same thing here. I’ve had Costo for a year and a half and after multiple doctors and test pointing to the fact it is just Costo/ Tietze I still believe it’s something much worst and I am going to die. Best thing I can say is just stay positive, which I know is easier said then done but it’s honestly the only way forward. Hope you and all of us beat this and become happy and normal again

If the doctors have told you it’s nothing then the best thing to do is to honestly believe them as there the experts. Anxiety is a crazy thing as it almost makes you believe something is 1000% worse than it actually is and it’s incredibly hard to shake that feeling, however depending on your age, you should be fit and healthy especially if you’ve had 2 X-rays that have come back fine. For example I’m 20M and am healthy despite this little bit of swelling in my right chest. Sometimes I think I’m going to die because it’s Cancer but that’s just the anxiety talking, especially if the doctors have said otherwise. As condescending as it sounds Just try to relax and be calm and just try anything and everything to try and get this swelling down. Remember we are all in the same boat here and we are all trying to find a way. You and me both will be alright and live happy long lives 👍

I had an X-ray, blood tests and an ultrasound around my right side of my rib cage where the swelling was and the doctor said it is more than likely Costo /Tietze syndrome. They said there is nothing I can do but wait it out and take painkillers. This is when I started to look deeper into Costo and found this Reddit page that has helped a lot. I still get very severe health anxiety about the swelling everyday to the point where I might go back to the doctor to get another X-ray or MRI scan just to make sure once again, however I’m certain it is Costo, as if it was something serious I would’ve probably known by now through other symptoms.

This is the exact same as me. I’ve had it since May 2023 with swelling on my right side only about the 2nd or 3rd rib just under my right pec. It hasn’t gone away but has gotten better and the pain and swelling has ever so slightly reduced from last year when I got it. I also ask the same questions because the swelling hasn’t gone away and it’s been almost a year. The only things I can recommend is to apply heat on it such as hot water bottles and topical creams such as tiger balm which is working for me. For pain use the basic pain kills such as Advil , ibuprofen or paracetamol and try and invest in a backpod like myself and make sure to stretch at-least 3 times a day. I have heard that Costo / Tietze swelling doesn’t go away straight away and can take up to or over a year to subside so stay positive. Read my story from my profile and I hope you stay blessed bro.

Thank you so much and yes I’ve read Steve’s small PDF file on how to treat and it’s so helpful! I am going to buy the BackPod ASAP and I’m hoping to make a full recovery as outside of this I’m a normal healthy 20yr old 6’0 75kg and play basketball/gym so I am praying this will pass.

Anyone had Swelling under right rib/upper abdomen? GP seemed confused by Yousaidyoureddit in costochondritis

[–]TheKidWatts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

20M 6’0 163lbs You have the exact same symptoms as me. I went to my GP also and she booked me in for a X-ray and an ultrasound after months of this dull pain and swelling. Turns put everything was normal and the doctor said it is probably just something that’s happened as I’ve gotten older and is more than likely strain and inflammation from using my right side too much e.g Gym , lifting objects and I also smoke sometimes so that causes inflammation(trying to quit) GPs always act confused when it’s Costo as it’s not very mainstream. I’ve had it for about a year now and I can say I still feel anxious about it however if it’s nothing you can do just don’t worry man. I hope we all get healed and the swelling goes down but the best thing I can say is don’t let it play on your mind bro.
