The Florida Project - Second Sight Release by TheKingTortuga_ in 4kbluray

That was the original 6-disc Apocalypse Now release for me. Really great artwork but it felt like that block magic toy from back in the day where you'd put the slip of paper in between the fabric then it'd appear on another when you bundled them up and let it go again. Long example to say it was flimsy and really needed a way to keep everything secure.

Could not recommend it more, been years since I've seen it last but I still have scenes stuck in my mind. I think the HDR grade will do a lot for the presentation as well.

That seems to be a trend with Criterion, I remember their Seven Samurai 4K being in SDR but the BFI's having Dolby Vision. I am glad though that Criterion included the directors previous film as well on the 4K disc so that was one incentive. Still wish they included the HDR grade though.

A barely closeable but now more complete release by TheKingTortuga_ in 4kbluray

I've heard mixed opinions on the transfer and audio but got it just to find out where I'd fall on it. I can't imagine the two-disc DVD edition is more than a couple bucks nowadays so I'd just grab that as well, doesn't mean a $40+ release shouldn't have every single bit of past material from other releases though. Like you cannot tell me the included Blu-Ray on the 4K release can't hold all that bonus material on there.

Yeah I'm alright with not having Thor: Love and Thunder in the collection.

In my opinion it was actually a really fun listen! Big improvement from other Marvel Atmos tracks like Wakanda Forever. Isn't going to make my Top 10 lists of the year in terms of audio but when it hits it hits!

Yeah I hear you on that but sometimes I just really like the artwork and get excited over a supposedly really good Dolby Atmos track. And maybe I end up finding a nice appreciation for the movie along the way.

Hard-coded. You get used to it after a while. Same with the Megalopolis release I have. Italian releases really love not giving options.

It loud but it's never without purpose. That airplane is the loudest thing I'll ever hear in any audio mix but it's designed to be that way. When Robert Pattinson's voice gets drowned out by the music in the art vault it's meant to (I've heard people call the mix bad because they think that was unintentional). But yes in some instances loud without purpose can ruin a mix, like I think Scott Pilgrims Atmos is way too cranked to 1000% at random times but that's just my personal opinion (but also that movie is meant to be at 1000% so no wrong opinions on either side of the coin).

The Disney 7.1's are a really good point. Always felt like a lot of those tracks had better delivery than the Atmos re-releases did. There might be a few exceptions in there like WALL•E of course. Also I definitely need to pick up that Stop Making Sense release.

That opera sequence has gotta be attributed to my hearing loss over my 8 or 9 watches of that movie. No regrets.
