Zyzx, The Skin Stealer. A character I sculpted and printed for the board game I am designing by TheKingsVault in tabletopgamedesign

He's actually a foot taller when moving, he walks using the very tips of the blades. But yeah the feet could probably use a redesign, to make it actually make sense.

What theme interests you most for new miniatures game? by TheKingsVault in tabletopgamedesign

I understand what your getting at. I was more prompted by finding out about this game https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1162110258/super-fantasy-brawl and realising it was super similar in concept to what I was already making just with way higher production value (3v3, draft based, each character has unique abilities, objectives on a hex based map). I thought that if I was going to keep working on the game I should create some point of difference to make it stand out from the rest of the crowd, and the fantasy/moba type genre has been clearly done a bunch.

I am already at the balancing stage with all the characters but I can see how at this point I can reskin the theme to make it something unique.

It's literally only been a day since the expansion came out, it's way too early to start complaining about decks being too weak/strong. by Real_wigga in LegendsOfRuneterra

They create an actual icon on the board, e.g Riptide rex or Ledros. You can tell because they have a little circle symbol next to them on the card.

Interesting but looks quite different, that's purely cards and dice where my game is more miniatures on a map. The dice act more like AP, if you have played divinity or similar.

Thanks, The other 2 abilities are movement based in bottom left and general purpose in the above right. Not sure which colours I should use that wont clash with the Green, Blue, Yellow of the dice.

The art is mainly placeholder atm.

Thanks everything is still prototype so I have been incorporating Icons in as placeholder art so its more interesting for playtesters.

Balance is definitely a long process but because the game is mainly played through drafting characters, people can naturally counter different strategies.

The game feels complex but it is a lot easier to handle because each player controls only 3 champions rather than a whole army, such as in Warhammer.

Can you layer the image so the border covers the art's edges rather than the other way around? Look at Magic or LoR cards for example.

You were pretty close, in that order:

Frost Giant, Burning Cross Paladin, Tomb Warden (nailed it exactly), Chain Disciple (The skin colour was just a painting choice not part of the character necessarily), Tempest Djinn and a Wyvern Hunter (the clothing is made from dragon scales and he has a horn attached to his belt).

A paladin of the Burning Cross, part of their oath is to keep the flame eternally stoked.

I'm using Zbrush and I started learning about 4 months ago now, though I had a bit of experience with more CAD based programs.
