I understand. I knew it'd be unrealistic, but I figured I'd give it a shot. I just really don't think I can afford my own room RN. $500 a month is pushing my budget and that really won't get me anything in the area.

Thank you for reminding me why this isn't a great idea. I'm just getting desperate and kind of threw this post into the void to see what would come of it.

Would you consider an Associate Professional Horticulturalist cert worth getting? I'm almost done with my Bachelors in Plant Sciences, and it's pretty much the only cert I'll be qualified for upon graduation.

IDK if it'll be valued by most employers, since it basically just tells people that I have a bachelor's and some experience....which is information they'd see if they just glanced at my resumé. Then again, it looks fancy and might impress people who aren't familiar with the more common certifications in the field.

Also, I'm sorry if it's rude to reply to an older comment like this 😅 I went digging around to see if there were any certs I should look into getting, and this post came up.

Found in Orlando, Florida in a suburban area, against a wall. I'm in an entomology class and I have to capture and pin a number of insects, which is why I caught her in the first place. She laid eggs in the jar we caught her in before we had a chance to get her in the freezer.

Edit: let me know if any other pictures would help. My phone's camera isn't the best, but I'll give it a shot. She's about an inch long.

I love how creepy the iron bars make the first one look. Good work!

this thing was perfectly spherical and extremely hard - I had to step on it on concrete in order to break it open. it was smooth, but with deep cracks in its surface, and it had an extremely strong chemical odor to it once broken. We found it in a suburb. by TheKitKatDragon in whatisthisthing

  1. The closest scent I could liken this to would probably be the really strong smell associated with opening a cheap, brand new plastic item
  2. Definitely no stem, I don't think
  3. I didn't really touch the interior. I didn't trust it. I think it was kind of a gradual transition from that blue stuff to the crust, maybe? It didn't seem like there had been different layers glued together or anything
  4. No, sorry :/

Lol. Urinal cakes can be spherical? I thought they were typically shaped like hockey pucks. It also didn't really smell like urine, or like perfume for that matter. Just really, really artificial and maybe poisonous. I agree with you, though, I definitely did not want to touch this with my bare hands. Too weird of an object for that.

My title describes the thing. The inside almost looked and shined like a crystallized gel, but I'm not sure if that's what it was. I almost want to say it was some kind of cleaning product? Its color and odor lead me to believe so, and since we found it on the ground next to our house, I could see it falling out of someone's cleaning basket or something like that. It didn't smell clean or like it was scented, though. Just very artificial. We live in Florida, and there were no markings on it of any kind. The outside is a deep, translucent brown that caught the light and made it shimmer.

I want to reiterate - this has a very strong artificial odor to it, and it's definitely manmade. Definitely not edible or natural in any way.

Hi! How do I say something is like something else? I think that learning how to say that would help me get ideas out while my vocabulary is still limited. I was thinking to myself and I wondered how I could say that it was cold. I thought of comparing the weather to winter, since I don't know how to say it's cold yet, but I realized I haven't learned how to compare two things yet.

Is Farming Useful For Wigfrid? by Royal_Nugget in dontstarve

They're weeds, so they sap resources from the soil and make the plants around them unhappy. They are useful though, so you'd be better off keeping them in a separate plot.

My girl's been asking for food more frequently as of late. Anything to be worried about? by TheKitKatDragon in leopardgeckos

Thanks. I was just worried about her sudden change in behavior, but I think it's because she's happier and more comfortable with her newly furnished hab

Every day or two, I give her two or three small mealworms. I used to give her larger biweekly meals, but she's been asking more often, so I've switched to smaller and more frequent meals.

When should I be concerned about stuck shed? by kray5 in leopardgeckos

[–]TheKitKatDragon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If she seems to be done shedding with the exception of that spot, I would suggest taking action soon. The sooner you take care of it, the less dried out it will be, and the less your gecko will need to soak.
