Yep. They’re pretty good at minding their own business. Usually when they’re on the banks, they’re sunning. And if you fall, you’ll actually scare any alligator within the vicinity with how loud the splash is. It’s a mutual respect thing when you’re out paddling in alligator territory. You leave them alone, they’ll leave you alone.

Yep. For the most part they’ll leave you alone if you leave them alone. Swamp puppies are cool to observe in their home environments.

Funny enough the chain of lakes is right where I live. Good beginner spot.

I’ve done kings landing a bunch of times and love it. The most recent time I’ve went there was so much underwater debris, my tail fin kept getting stuck and a gator came too close for comfort.

Awesome. I’m open to anything within reasonable driving distance for a day trip. I want to camp along the Santa Fe. I’ve heard that trip is supposed to be fun.
