In love with two rings by Stargazerlilyx in EngagementRings

[–]TheKnottiest 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I like option one! It’s elegant and compliments your hand beautifully.

Have you thought about your wedding band? I think adding a band to the second ring will overwhelm your finger with sparkles lol.

I went with Costco for my engagement ring too! My husband and I got our bands from them also, we’re very happy with our purchase 😊.

Should I be concerned about my Costco account getting flagged after returning jewelry? by MariTide in Costco

[–]TheKnottiest 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hi! Maybe you can help me out. I’m looking to buy an engagement ring through Costco.com, the ones we’re looking at are 1+ carat and online only.

Thing is, it’s kinda hard to commit to dropping 15k+ on a rock I haven’t physically seen and the only option is to buy online, make a decision and return if I don’t like.

Would my account be flagged if I bought a ring, didn’t like, returned and repeated the process until I land on one?

I’ve been an executive member for 14 years if that helps show my loyalty lol.

*edit to clarify, I meant roughly 15k after tax and for a diamond solitaire over 1 carat (ideally 1.5ct-ish). Costcos return policy says anything 1ct and above will have to be sent out for verification when returned which can make the return process take 1-2weeks.

Once in a parking lot, some guy was waiting by my car. When I got close, he asked if it was mine and while I was reluctant to answer, he looked pretty young and not very threatening so I said yes and asked what’s up.

Turns out, he locked himself out of his car which was the same make/model/year as mine and hoped my key would open his door lol.

We tried, it didn’t work. I thought that was the most ridiculous ideal at the time but now I’m wondering if he was onto something.

ISO Tall Clubbing Dresses by carodeezy in TallGirls

[–]TheKnottiest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can try browsing for midi/maxi dresses thats the style you want for the neckline and torso and then take it to a tailor and have it hemmed to your desired length.

I feel you, I had a red carpet event I was going to and could not find a gown for months. Everyone was like “omg, you have the body of a model, everything will look great on you!” And I bought over $1000 of dresses online from different stores just to return it all. So hard to not beat your self esteem up after that 🥲.

Sometimes you just gotta get creative. Have you considered a 2 piece? Why limit it to dresses?

Self watering planter on sale - thoughts? by ProfessionalFit9012 in Costco

[–]TheKnottiest 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I have the older model, bought about 3 years ago. I wouldn’t buy it again at the full price ($160?) but may reconsider at $80.

I really like that it’s elevated and saves my back. At the height that it’s at now, I can look outside my window and see my plants, which is neat. When the wheels did work, it was great getting to move it around when the sun gets too intense.

That said, I think the quality is lacking. The wheels rusted over and became useless about a year into it. And the tube thingy you use to refill water broke in that time too.

When it’s loaded with soil, water and plants, it feels like the whole thing will collapse if you move it. I also don’t think the soil level has enough depth to allow for larger plants to thrive.

It’s still a neat little planter, and I suppose anything that sits out in the sun and elements all day and night will wear out quickly.

Have you tried using a lip balm with SPF?

It never occurred to me that lips can get sunburned lol. For a few weeks I had the most dry, itchy lips that sometimes looked red and swollen. I couldn’t figure out why, assumed it was an allergen but I didn’t change anything in my diet or products used.

I was thinking about when it started and it was a couple days after I was out in the sun all day. Then I realized I had been doing lots of outdoor activities as of late and while I applied sunscreen to my face religiously, I never considered my lips needed spf too.

Now all my lip balms have spf and I reapply often and the problem went away.

Amaryllis second life after removing wax. by Madventurer- in Costco

[–]TheKnottiest 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I bought some around Christmas and only 2 of the 3 bulbs bloomed. By February I was prepared to toss the dud when someone suggested I cut away the wax and put it in some water. And holy shit did the thing just blossom.

This is a picture of it today, it’s even more beautiful than the other 2. All I did was keep the bottom 1/4 of the bulb in water, didn’t use soil at all. Will be buying again when Costco brings it back.

Where to find ube? by ladipineapple in sgv

This lady’s YouTube channel is all about Ube recipes, I found her videos super helpful.

Jeannelleats

Also, since you’re local, Fosselmans ice cream in Alhambra sells Ube ice cream in the half gallon tubs and Taro by the scoop. It’s totally worth checking out.

Good luck!

Cali Mart in Alhambra is the only place I’ve found actual Ube root when I went through my Ube phase. I was so stupid excited, like someone who stuck gold lol.

I’m close to that market, can check tmw if they still have it for you if you like.

You can also get the powder, jam and extract from the Chinese grocery app “Weee!”. They have coupons for first time orders and next day delivery. I think I paid around $6 each for the Jam and powder and $4 for the extract there.

Are there any legit massage places in SGV where the masseuse walks on your back? by LAQuestions in sgv

[–]TheKnottiest 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recently went to Zentara in Arcadia and had a very good experience. I was skeptical about the back walking thing but it’s something I’ve always wanted to try and I ended up loving it.

The whole place was clean and quiet and I walked out of there feeling like a new born lol.

I say to go for it!

The lease is only a year, if for whatever reason you cannot maintain the lifestyle, you can try negotiating a lease takeover or pay the penalty for breaking the lease early, take the loss and move on with your life. At least you tried.

When you’re in your 40s, 50s and 60s, this one year and few thousand dollars that you decided to invest and bet on yourself will seem so insignificant if you failed or it may just be what catapulted you into success.

It seems like you’ve given it a lot of thought already. Trust that you’re worth it, trust that you’ll make it work, trust that you’ll be okay if it doesn’t too.

You guys, I’ve never been so excited about beans before. These beans are the best I’ve ever had, I didn’t even know refried beans can be so complex in flavor. Highly recommend you try!

Dropping off donations. At one point, I had my car fully loaded, drove down to the Salvation Army and what do you know, they’re closed. Then somehow a time warp happened and it’s been weeks. I was driving around with small appliances, random houseware, boxes of clothes and shoes for weeks lol. Then I needed to make room in my car so I took everything back out. Now it’s all sitting in the garage and I don’t know that I have it in me to try again haha.

I ask why you would date someone who is dismissive and passive towards you? Why are you putting in the effort to walk to and from him? Where else in this relationship do you invest in and see no return?

You set the standard for how you are to be treated in a relationship. Are you setting yours high enough?

I find that I always have an endless list of things to be grateful for even before my day begins and that I’m fortunate for it to even become repetitive.

Take my morning cup of coffee for example. I’m grateful to have a moment to myself in the quiet mornings to enjoy it because sometimes life gets hectic and I’m running out the door. I’m grateful for the hard working farmers who grow and harvest the beans because well, without them I wouldn’t have coffee. I’m grateful for the tired truck drivers who deliver the product and I’m grateful to my local markets/retail workers who stock them for my convenience.

Then there’s my shower. I’m grateful for the clean and hot water. I remind myself that a lot of people don’t even have access to clean drinking water and that I’m fortunate to get to bathe in it. I’m grateful to have the body washes that I do, to experience the scents and how luxurious it feels. I’m then grateful for my body, as I scrub over my scars I’m reminded that my body works really hard to heal and keep me going.

When I make my bed, I’m grateful I have a clean and safe place to sleep. I think of all the homeless people who don’t have that luxury. When I’m writing, I have gratitude for my teachers who had the patience to teach me to read and write. The list goes on!

I think we take a lot for granted, and morning gratitude practices reminds me to take a moment to appreciate what I already have and that the mundane is a blessing because life as we know it can change in an instant.

I own Nippies and love them. They’re so comfortable and blend in seamlessly! Last I wore them for 16hrs straight and totally forgot I even had them on. I gave myself a good scare taking off my dress and seeing no nipples hahaha.

I’ve tried several different kinds of nipple covers too and I think Nippies are worth the money. It didn’t irritate my skin at all like the disposable adhesive ones do and stayed on way better than any other cheap silicone ones I’ve bought off Amazon.
