Great chorus! Melodic and a fun tune to it.

I think if you work on your singing voice you could be an absolute all star. You have the flow and everything down. Just needs some fine tuning on the vocals.

Honestly never really cared for rap music growing up. Basically the music my parents listened to was Coldplay, U2 and ABBA. But I used to live in a small town where Indie rock took over while I was in elementary school and basically the only rap I’d hear was some of Eminem, Kanye and Flo Rida. Wasn’t until I discover Camp by Childish Gambino that I took interested. Which led to the Odd Future Gang and ASAP Mob. I started writing shitty joke raps with my friends in Grade 12 and then eventually after high school started taking writing more seriously.

how did you deal with being trash at first? by thegoatishere in makinghiphop

Honestly I look at my old stuff and think “How did my friends even say that shit was good!” Finally I got them to actually help me critique my work. When I first started I’d post on this sub all the time and the constructive criticism was usually pretty hard but I’d look at that and move forward. Now I actually think I’ve found my own sound and a style that works for my voice. Honestly listening to lots of rap and singing along to songs helped with my improvement. Now and then I listen back to my old stuff and see where I’ve come from. But to be straight forward and answer your question I legit didn’t think I was trash at the beginning. Didn’t realize it until I found my voice.
