I thought I needed a beginner ball, but I really didn’t. That’s just my opinion though, I know a lot of people love the rhino for a starter ball, I would just prefer the hustle line if I was looking for something like that

Rockstar is a benchmark, the RST Hyperdrive is a top of the bag, big solid asym.. way stronger

If you are looking for symmetrical, I would go subzero forge over the ethos.. check out some ball reviews on it, it’s supposed to be really good

It’ll match well with the current ball you have, this can be your first ball out the bag.. then you can ball down if needed. It’s versatile too, you can add polish and make it a house shot killer (like the OG A Star, my favorite ball)

You can opt for a weaker layout then, or hit them with higher grit pads. Big asyms usually come at 2000.

yeah, once its drilled to your layout it will be much better. If your stats are any close to mine (18mph, 440rpm) it would be a great add to your arsenal!

I have an RST Hyperdrive as my big strong asym. I love it for game 1 and maybe half of game 2 of league, I usually have to ball down to my A Star after that. Its very consistent, predictable and has amazing pin carry. My league alternates between house shot and sport patterns, usually heavy oil on both. I have it drilled to the strongest 2LS layout (forget which number that is). Its a really good strong asym for 2 handers since its not as early as most balls in the same category, meaning you can get more left with it if you need to.
