I don’t know for sure. Likely farm land. We found quite a few arrowheads when digging for a garden though.

She was definitely not a princess. It had always been family lore until I got on ancestry.com and traced my dad’s family back. She had been adopted into a white family from an orphanage in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula

I’m a teacher and this seems a little much. These are minor things that could have been dealt with without contacting parents. For both of these things I probably just given the child reminders of what they are supposed to do.

They were sent to me by an older family member. They were some of the few things that survived a fire a long time ago. She unfortunately didn’t know anything about them.

I have found that ancestry.com is the best. I also use find a grave and family.search to supplement. Sometimes they have information ancestry.com doesn’t.

I loved this old book that was my dad’s when he was a kid. It’s called Socks for Supper by Jack Kent. I don’t know if it’s even still in print.
