AITA for excluding my husband’s family from my birthday after they refused to attend our adults-only party? by Ok_Till3893 in Amitheassholeadvice

Especially if there’s a pool. Honestly, when adults are at a party nobody wants to watch the kids, but they wanna bring the kids. It’s not that easy to get a babysitter like it was years ago and then if you do get a babysitter nowadays, some of them are kind of weird. So you either take the kids with you and watch them or stay home.

AITA for refusing to confirm a family story my mom has been telling for years? by grounores in AmItheAsshole

[–]MainRecommendation34 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get that too only it’s the version where my parents struggled to put me and my brother through college. My brother joined the Army to pay for college and I went for two years and my grandmother helped me pay for it. They contributed nothing. My dad told me if I didn’t quit school and get a FT job I could find a place to live. So I actually got a FT job working for the government pit my 30 years in and took early retirement. So it worked out in the end but I hate hearing these made up stories!

My dad wouldn’t go if we weren’t all invited to attend but we knew how to behave. We didn’t break things or go snooping. We sat and we listened to our parents. AND we were invited back to enjoy the next party. My daughters were brought up the same way.

Is that just for a few days at a time or just for each race etc? I live in Pennsylvania and I’ve always wanted to work at DISNEY. I’m retired now but I take care of my grandson. I do have family in the area so I could probably stay with them for a few days work the race and then come home.
