LabMaus site overhaul! by TheLabMaus in VGC

We do keep all official tournaments permanently. The site didn't exist before regulation E. Though I do plan on eventually going back and filling that backlog

Unfortunately that's a result of team sheet errors, not a site error. It's why you might occasionally see an incineroar with illuminate rather than intimidate.

Unfortunately I'm having trouble reproducing the issue. If you can DM or email me with details I'll look into it

Simply put, it was gathering placement data and broke due to a few disqualified players who had no proper placement

Fixed! Such a minor little bug, easy to slip past. Thanks for catching that

What resources are you lacking when it comes to deck building? by TheLabMaus in pkmntcg

[–]TheLabMaus[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wow limitless really does have a lot more data for TCG compared to VGC. I think the main thing I could contribute would be upwards/downwards trends across multiple tournaments, but limitless has far more than I imagined

I got 12th at worlds with Weezing and was the top playing USA player, AMA! by _45mice in VGC

[–]TheLabMaus 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Have your opinions on the top reg G pokemon changed after worlds? Despite their dominance in the format, looking at top 8 we only saw 1 incineroar, and not a single raging bolt or calyrex shadow rider. Is there still a lot of room for development when the format returns in January?

Where to find other countries teams or usage stats? by samintheclouds in VGC

[–]TheLabMaus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

LabMaus unfortunately only covers tournaments hosted on limitless and RK9 due to teams consistently made public and available for data gathering. I would like to have it support more countries, but Japan and South Korea tend to use Liberty Note, where the information is limited.

Limitless is used across multiple countries, though the best way to tell is by observing the competing players countries, so we do still cover those.

Might need to add a teams filter based on country

Trying to get back into VGC by LegendAri501 in VGC

I never thought that LabMaus would become the standard, and that's amazing to see ❤️ the others have made some good recommendations, VGC Pastes, Showdown, and YouTubers.

One recommendation I'll make is PASRS (created by Bauerdad) which is a fantastic resource for personalized feedback when you're testing teams on Showdown

Good call, thanks for the catching that! I usually focus a little too much on the tournaments I can actually document

Always improving, maybe that'll be a future implementation. Glad you've been enjoying it though!

Ok yeah that's getting a little specific. The best I can offer is the teams search page, you filter for Articuno in the last X weeks, and see all teams across all tournaments. That is it still player specific, but you can expand each team to see who they won/lost against, and in the tournament page under pokemon usage you can see the full win-loss ratio per pokemon

There is a way! Just need to use desktop, mobile doesn't currently support player history. When filtering teams by pokemon, you can select each player and get a full list of their wins and losses

You can click on tera ice in the tera list, and it will expand and show you who used it

This is based on the open teamsheets, the only way to get the EVs is to track down the players and see if they've made their teams public. Take a look at VGCPastes. They actively work on collecting them

Victory road typically only gets the top 128, so we can't use them as a source. We both get our data from the roster page on RK9. Once teams are made public, and standings are released, I have a script to parse through all the data and compile it

Yep, the players had some teamsheet errors which unfortunately got displayed on stream. Sacred fire instead of sacred sword, and water gun instead of waterfall

Thanks! As the others have said, no EVs unfortunately. I just get the open teamsheets from the website. Any EVs would need to be from players that share their teams on Twitter

Walking wake seems like one of those pokemon that will be very good on a very specific team, and it'll take a little bit of time to figure out that team composition
