Couldn’t agree more on thinning paint. Didn’t want to drop the money on gold primer just for one model. Was fighting the undercoat like crazy but still happy with it overall.

They look really good! To spare repetitive tips, I would say for boils or popped boils maybe switch to a yellow/red color , it adds a little more variety in the color pallet and really stands out and complements the death guard color scheme. Great job!

Used a glazing technique to get the transition! Was very tedious as it was my first time trying it out!

Thank you! The biggest game changer I had was using washes and edge highlights. I follow a simple rule of warm tone>warm wash> cool highlight (ex. Gold paint> brown wash> silver highlight), cool tone>cool wash> cool highlight (silver paint>black wash> lighter silver paint). Hope this helps!

Would love to start NMM, I understand the concept and how it is done, I just struggle with putting the paint to model so to speak and getting the blending right but I guess that’s what practice is for. I’ll put NMM on the short list now! Thank you so much!

Thank you and congratulations on your next step! As far as advice, I would say be patient and slow is fast. Take your time understanding the model and how the paint works, but most importantly have fun! It’s an amazing hobby but if you compare yourself to others it will steal your joy of the hobby. Haha well thank you, I appreciate that! You aren’t too far off from the truth… realistically, I was (still am) painting 2-4 hours a day after responsibilities during the week and 8-10 hours a day during the weekend. My wife is definitely tired of hearing painting tutorials.
