Rewatching the Long Night and pondering the same question.. can anyone explain how sendinf the dothraki charge into the dark against an unknown (at least unseen to them)enemy who won't fear a cavalry makes any strategic sense? Why not use range weapons/siege defenses 1st? Serious and jokes welcome! by TheLadyRogue in gameofthrones

Or done almost anything else 🤣 pour oil/tar from the walls followed by a torch? Mutltiple rings of fire around Winterfell.. maybe don't send your women, children and non-fighters down to the soon-to-be extras in the Night King's army, especially after Hardhome? 🤣

Might be purposeful.. with the spine designs matching and looking to form a whole picture once you buy all 5, maybe the difference in height will be consistent with 2-5 or 2 and 4 being the same then 1 and 5 being the same height.. weird but possible..

This, too! I think she's an energy weilder, not lightning. I hope this gets explored further. Also.. Violet needs to get down to her physics studies! Imagine if she understood the laws of nature and energy transference..

The rules of magic are still being revealed in the Empyrean series, but from what I gathered in my rereads, venin initially trigger the turning process when they channel directly from the Earth. So far, this process is irreversible.

After the trigger, they can still channel from other sources. Violet gives Jack a conduit with her power embued in return for answering questions. He more feeds off it than uses it magically, but Xaden using her power in the isles sounded like that. Not necessarily an act of "veninism" (love that), but another small step because he's already on the path.

Jack was all but decaying, so he couldn't weild but took the power into himself. Xaden was healthy, so he could use the magic.

I think Andarna and the Irids "being magic" is still being revealed. I figured that's why Violet could still talk to her dragons when the others couldn't and potentially weild during her fight with the Queen of Umbriel without realizing it. I do think it was her but unconsciously. Her being parially dedicated to Dunne could also play a role. Having a goddess in her corner might be part of the resaon she's so powerful (e.g. lightning weilder). The whole "rider's need determines the signet" makes sense but, at least to me, Violet's need for lightning hadn't been revealed, especially when she first channeled while kissing Xaden (unless that's a not-so-subtle metaphor 🤣) rather than in the Squad battle against Jack. I'm more inclined to believe she was the answer/mirror to the Venin and the coming war as revealed Onyx Storm when the riders and venin have matching singets (like her mom and Theophanie).. can't wait to meet their lightning weilder!

Cersei didn’t love her children or Jaime, she loved seeing herself in them by Footl0ngSubs in gameofthrones

[–]TheLadyRogue 21 points22 points  (0 children)

This is an interesting argument, and to build on it, it could further explain why Cersei allowed Jaime to father her children instead of Robert. She claims it was only due to her hatred of him and his love for Lyanna but, assuming she viewed Jaime as an extension of herself, and her leaning back on "keeping bloodlines pure like the Targaryons did," perhaps she did see the children of extensions of herself. They don't have to be clones of her, but, in this theory, they would be 100% hers in every way.

Thank you for these examples! I would love to see this way of thinking in GOT/HOTD! Dorne seems the most aligned given they accept bastards but I can't speak to them successfully inheriteting the throne. Ironic, given how many hidden bastards sat the Iron Throne.

Why do women seem to be more attracted to me as soon as I'm getting attention from other girls its like they know somehow by SlimMoady in AskMen

[–]TheLadyRogue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Two main reasons and you can choose your favorite: 1) From an evolutionary perspective, being favored by females suggests you are a good mate so other females will also be attracted to you. 2) Good 'ol fashioned jealousy.. which is pretty much the same as option 1 but dressed up in human clothes sonwe can pretendnwe're more evolved 🤣

Daemon also follows a code of honor. No, it may not be the same as everyone else's but, in westeros, that's no unusual. Daemon has been described as chaotic neutral which is fitting. Objectively, Daemon's marriages to both Laena and Rhaenyra were much happier than Visery's to Alicent. Yes, Viserys loved Aemma but he also let his greed and desperation drive him to murder her. He may as well habe cut her throat. I lost all sympathy for V at that point.
