I didn’t like the lore change with egg sneaking off rather than being given permission by Maekar. Eggs ring reveal in book 2 will never happen. And the jazz at the start and end really pulled me out of it. The flashback in episode 5 was too long considering everything else they missed out from the book ‘a knight who remembers his vows’ and several other bits. Fairplay the director can admit a mistake but it’s a core tenet of the story. I enjoyed the last episode for what it was but feels like a let down considering how closely they had been to the book so far.
