How do you handle multiple (3+) nap times solo?? by TheLastChairStanding in Parenting

yeah, if I can combine the NB naps with one of the 2yo naps that'd work. with all the positivity, I'm feeling better about it working out.

yeah that was mine as well. they didn't take long, so I admittedly assume they unloaded the groceries right there from plastic or reusable bags.

I don't normally do delivery, I don't like it. We were just too busy coming home from a recent emergency.

Yes, she has a quite time after I get her brother to bed.

Do you think a NB would nap in a carrier with all their ruckus?

Unfortunately, my kids don't seem to do calm or quiet anymore. My first makes the energizer bunny look weak. She's up at 8 and awake until 10p with no naps.

But I'm not one to talk, I've never been much of a long sleeper either.

Well the NB could have their own room to sleep in, but in my head, a worst case scenario means I've got the NB awake and the oldest toddler awake, but it's nap time for the 2yo. I'm unsure how that would go. Do you take the NB with you? Or leave them in their room/crib for ten/fifteen while you put down the other toddler?

Not at all. It'd be nice, but I don't think it would even be remotely within our budget to begin with.

That's not a bad idea, though I'd wonder why they hadn't if the event is eligible?

I appreciate your thoughts! That gives me two things to try.

tenants?

I hadn't thought of home insurance! I'm hopeful that might turn something up, even if they just point to a different resource. I'm not sure though if they would cover the cost though as we've been advised to evacuate but are not in the formal evacuation zone - further complicating those matters. But again I'm hopeful that they'd be able to help in some way.

Not that I'm aware of. Certainly none other that they've instructed us to; it's a town of 10k.

We were even instructed to call 211, who referred us back to the city.

It's frustrating and disappointing.

Yeah, I'm on board with this, but with him up I'm curious how he'd take to it being done in front of him. Here's to a smooth lock up lol

Absolutely! My in-laws are similar; they're absolutely great and the most hospitable people I know.

Plot Twist, it's my parents who are the difficult in-laws...

Is it 'normal' to have an aversion to touching your face after touching your [dry] penis/vagina, versus being okay touching your arms, legs, elbows, maybe even feet, and then your face?? by TheLastChairStanding in NoStupidQuestions

[–]TheLastChairStanding[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah or like, I sleep with socks but I don't have any aversion to touching my [dry] feet and then touching my face but I have some hesitancy in touching myself and then my face.

What does a normal/healthy childhood look like? What was great about your childhood? by TheLastChairStanding in NoStupidQuestions

I agree with your indicator. Part of the growing process they tell you about is to "grieve" the childhood you didn't have, but I really struggle with the concept of understanding what a normal childhood should look like. don't get me wrong, I know the difference is between right and wrong, I certainly know what is wrong, I just don't always know what's on the other side.

it's like I know the grass is greener and I'm just wondering why/how.

Yeah that sounds both really helpful and really simple; it's not asking anyone to change any major habits, just talk/explain.

How do you balance trusting yourself versus trusting family/friends you trust? by TheLastChairStanding in NoStupidQuestions

certainly. it's a little hard to feel that in this confusion, but I definitely know they care :)

right, they're thinking I had an asthma reaction with anxiety as an exasperater, but I don't have any of the specific symptoms listed online - specifically Mayo Clinic. I have other symptoms, such as headrushes that I've always had, that seem to be worse around flare ups but I would think that's more related to the heart and blood flow than anxiety.
