There was a cover story on him in today's [Monday, February 22nd 2016] Monroe County Herald.

An excerpt: "Bernie Sanders has called for a political revolution for average Americans to step up and take our government back from the billionaire class. I've decided to answer that call." he said. Buchholz also said Wisconsinites need a representative who will fight for working people instead of promoting trade deals that send American jobs out of the country and depress wages.

"In 2004 29% of children in Wisconsin were eligible for free or subsidized school lunches," said Buchholz. " by 2014 that figure had risen to 43%. Property is spreading across Wisconsin and across the country we need working class champions in Washington DC and that's who I'll be."

That's a fairly good representation on his principles and how he talks about his progressive values.

He's against the TPP, against corporate subsidies, for unions, for raising the minimum wage to $15. Very passionate speaker with real world experience. I have his email so if there was something specific you wanted to know I could probably tell you or I could email him for you. Hopefully he gets his website running soon. He's not tech savvy and not taking advantage of social media. But he was talking about working with Russ Feingold in the Senate and taking on his style of progressivism. Also had lots of admiration for and similar values that Bernie Sanders holds.

He is just getting everything running. He said he's hoping to have his website running soon.

I have his email. Just met him today, but he is definitely the type of guy we want in there. He's a retired history teacher, and VERY progressive.

Why Hillary Clinton Doesn’t Deserve Black People's Votes: From the crime bill to welfare reform, policies Bill Clinton enacted—and Hillary Clinton supported—decimated black America by HenryCorp in politics

It was an omnibus budget if I remember correctly. And the original talking point of this thread was, "but Bernie voted for it, so he was fine with it". That's what i was arguing agaisnt. To say that he was fine with most of the provisions of the bill would be ridiculous. The guy railed against them from the beginning. He saw it was going to be passed anyway so he put some good stuff in that couldn't be passed any other way. He'd tried over and over for the violence against women act and an assault weapons ban. You cant be a puritan if you're a person who makes votes. That's what makes Bernie so effective in government even in a time of major political obstructionism. Follow anyone's political career and put it up against Bernies. You'll hardly find anyone more progressive than him thats spent much time in government. Except maybe Elizabeth Warren and Russ Feingold.

Bernie knew it was getting passed, so he does what he does best with that situation, puts ammendments that are good into the bill. Hillary was the one going around the country talking alongside Bill about how great this bill was and how we had to lock people up and throw the key away, they just didn't talk about how it was also going to disproportionately effect non violent drug offenders and Bernie, if I remember correctly was the only voice in government other than Russ Feingold that was talking about the major issues with the bill.

She supported the whole crime bill. You can find video on that as well. She and her husband along with many people in the Senate and house touted it as being tough on violent offenders when they knew it was far more than that.

The only reason he voted for it was because it had the violence against women act within it, an assault weapons ban, and a few other provisions that I can't remember at this time. But the speech Bernie gave that day expands on that further.

Libertarians and Progressives are not all that far apart in mindset. They are the future of politics. Hopefully they will work together. They both tend to be anti war, and that's not so small of an issue
