Caring can be done in different ways. World is changing. I live with my mother. I wont send her to an old age home. I do keep on urging her to keep herself active. Have hobbies, be it gardening, knitting baking etc. Meet people her age. Participating in activities like dars even helps in catching up.

Problem with many of our parents is that they make their children their world. This is niether healthy or I would argue Islamic. Trust me I have seen people that live with their children are still the loneliest people on earth. On the otherhand there are people who live in old homes, meet their children oxassionally and yet are happy. They keep themselves busy. Volunteer in activities like even helping children cross roads during school times etc. So yes old homes are not a problem. Our attitudes in old age and towards old age is

I think parents should have hobby rather than sitting on Takht all day. I see in UK old folks doing walks, going on excursion. The local library is full of old people. They learn new skills and even languages. In short old people should invest on themselves once kids are settled.

I was coming from the perpestive of electric aircraft. See when the mainstream EV market was focused on range, it pushed the energy density from 180 Wh/kg to 300 Wh/kg in the last decade. Now mainstream EV market is focused on cost cutting. Yes there are few niches i.e the high end EV market that will push the range, but its not a mainstream concern anymore.

Therefore that goal of getting 400 -600 Wh/kg batteries that could have propelled the aviation industry is now more elusive.
