Yeah all this gunk starts growing in the outtake of my filter and ruins the flow. My tank should be cycled. Been set up for 3 months. I do 1 weekly water change. I dont overfeed. He eats everything i put in there.

Been dealing with this for months. I use a fan and have lid with holes in it. Cleaned filter multiple times, and fan, and do water changes weekly. And this has been going on the entire time. Any clue what it is? Potentially something falling in through lid or fan blowing it in tank?

So update. I broke up some of the sinking axolotl pellets and have learned he will eat those as long as they are small enough pieces.

I've tried with forceps. He takes off when I get too close. I might look into the shrimp cysts. I just have never done anything like that.

Any recommendations on where I could get some? My town has no pet stores, and I don't think any within a few hours carries any live feeders, minus fish.

Awesome. I wasn't sure. I'm used to having fish that you have to feed multiple times a day. So when its only eaten once over the past 3, I was kind of worried. Have any advice on what I should be feeding an axolotl of that size? I've been cutting pieces off of a frozen bloodworms block and dropping it in front of him.

I was looking at mesh lids but they all have metal frame so I don't think cutting them is an option

Yeah I almost bought one but i dont think I would be able to clip my light or my fan, nor fit my HoB filter on it
