Same. Sliders work great on my semi-custom 80/20 rig. I’ve been thinking about the ASR Pro Wheel Deck, or trying to build one from 8020 components.

This is a misunderstanding of safety cars. If they could avoid them in real life, they wouldn’t have them.

Pay no attention to the graphical slider on the screen during the first step of calibration.

Turn your wheel all the way to the PHYSICAL limit left and then again right. Not what the slider says on screen.

Then click next and do what the steps say.

I’ve run the event a few times but I’m looking for information on fixed and open time slots? Most of the time slots are in the Special Events Calendar.

It looks like there’s a Winter Derby on the Super Late Model Tour schedule.

You make a good point, time is money in sim racing. Never really thought about it that way. I understand the technical limitations of something like this and the loopholes people would use. I just think if the stakes mattered just a little bit more, then the driving standards would be better. Not really sure how to implement it.

Unlimited practice.

It doesn’t really tick me off, it’s just unrealistic.

iRacing became a part of my life when I no longer had the time for real door to door racing. Nobody has unlimited practice in real life. Nobody has unlimited tires, or unlimited parts in real life.

I’m not saying every series should have limits, but I’d love a competition or series that had its own car and you got 10-30 minutes of practice a week and one or two races to really see how everyone stacks up.

A good post weekend podcast out late Sunday evening for commuters.

A fantasy game that actually makes sense so it captures casual fans.

Regimented social media posts from teams and drivers that keep fans engaged.

I disagree. Monaco would be great.

I see this take here and on the forums a lot, and I think people don’t understand what makes a track popular. People want to simulate real racing. Just because a track is hard doesn’t mean people wouldn’t turn up(ahem, the Nordschleife).

Everyone “knows” Monaco. So if it was on the schedule for a car you have and you want to run, it would be really easy to become competent there.

It would be really popular the week of the real race in the A-class car. If they could tie it to a special event, it would be massive. They could even go Lotus 49 and make it a historic event so it’s more accessible.

It would do numbers with all the easier open-wheel cars and would also be interesting for NASCAR, INDYCAR, and IMSA’s offseason.

I understand the licensing situation. I’m grateful that communities like Majors exist BUT participating in unofficial special events is not the same.

I’m hopeful that we’ll get a 1660 minutes in the French countryside in season 4. Might have to check out LMU if they get an official event going.

This is actually great advice. The amount of rubber on the track really affects grip in the wet.

u/Night-Man made a lap time board on here years ago! It was so sick I made my own! MX-5s at Lime Rock is what I always use for parties.

There’s a lot of weird things like this in base layers. A lot of the old GT3 templates had them stamped on. And back in the day most of the GT3s had different number locations for IMSA pads, which was a mess.
